 Summary:

Eat what you want, just make sure you write it down, either with an app for your phone, or on the computer. Need to be responsible for what you eat.

Also eat no fast food, soda, msg, high fructose corn syrup, processed foods, gmo foods. Minimize sugary foods, non organic foods.

Exercise every day, whether it be walking for 20 minutes, or dancing with the kids. Every little bit helps.

Eat good, healthly, organic, local foods. 100 mile radius from you. Eat in season. Choose fresh eggs from farmers or backyard farms. Split a share from a CSA with a friend to get local, fresh veggies all year round. Farmer's markets are your friend.
Find restaurants that serve local foods; meat without hormones and grassfed livestock.

1.Eat fresh, organic foods. Local is better (100 miles radius from you).
2.Stay away from fast food restaurants. The animals are not treated well, and the food is very unhealthy.
3.Reseach high fructose corn syrup, msg and aspartame. Than look in your pantry to see how many foods have these ingredients in them. Make your own decision to keep or not.
4.Watch Food Inc.

About / History

I've tried diets that put limitations on what you can eat, when you eat, etc. I can't follow something that doesn't allow me to make the decisions.
Also, recently I watched Food, Inc. on PBS. It's a revealing show on how our food is made, handled, processed. Primarily our fast foods.
Cows are fed corn, which breeds ecoli in their gut. To minimize the ecoli, meat plants use ammonia to kill the ecoli. So the meat we eat at fast food places, is ecoli/ammonia meat. Yum!! Do you want to eat ammonia? I don't!

Same thing with milk, and chicken, and pork.

Read up on high fructose corn syrup and msg. Make your own decisions. It's easy to not eat fast food when you know how your food is processed.
