Indian Vegetarian diet


 Summary:

Psychodementia's own custom fatsecret diet. Based on inputs from dieticians in India and keeping in mind what is easily available here.

This is strictly vegetarian and has to be suplemented with atleast 60minutes of exercise (both weight training and cardio) as well as atleast 3 liters of water consumption.

This can lead to weight loss of around 12 kilograms in about 3 months.

 How To Follow Indian Vegetarian diet:

Early morning - 1 glass lemon juice with warm water, coffee with skim milk

8am - breakfast consisting of cornflakes and milk. Or 2 dosa and mint chutney. Or 3 idli with mint chutney. Or 1 bowl poha.

11:30am - Coffee, 2 wheat cracker biscuits

1pm - 2/3 thin rotis with 1 bowl vegetables, 1 bowl daal and curd

4pm - Coffee with 2 wheat cracker biscuits

6pm - 2 wheat bread vegetable sandwich

8:30pm - Large bowl of salads. Optionally 2 rotis and 1 bowl vegetables and 1 bowl daal.

Psychodementia's top tips

1.Try to stock up things in advance. The last thing you want is to be hungry at 4pm and reach out for a samosa. Buy or cook what is needed and make sure you are stocked up before the day starts.
2.Drink atleast 3 liters or more water every day. This is essential for the diet to work.
3.Ensure you go to the gym - cardio + light weight training - atleast 5 days a week for a minimum of 60minutes.
4.It is okay to cheat once in a while. Having a chocolate cookie when you are really tempted is okay (not good) as long as you can make up for it (skimp on a roti during dinner) and promise not to repeat it. Don't make that break your diet/promise.
5.It will take atleast 2-3 weeks for this diet to take effect. Be patient. Check your weight once at starting and then at the end of the month. I guarantee it will show a difference.

This was personally practiced after it was recommended to me at Talwalkar's gym (http://www.talwalkars.net/) However please note that this depends on who is taking it (BMR) and what exercise is being followed (cardio, strength training etc)
