Morning,

Donna
That is awesome leg work to go with calf raises thank you, it releases the tightness from the raises..... I am doing them in 25 at a time different times thruout the day, while doing dishes, folding laundry, whatever...

Laurie
I am with Donna, she has sniffles , I have sneezes and an out of no where cough attack, it chokes me.... no idea when it hits...... but will walk slow today for steps anyway.

Pam
don't work too hard, but do raise those calves....... when I measure my right calf is bigger than my left one , too funny.....

I will & I am

cheers later

I got yesterdays cardio done this morning. Meeting just went to late last night. Only 5 f/v yesterday.

I did the calves, for some reason I thought I was supposed to do 50 out, 50 in, 50 out. So I did 150 lol.

I am trying to amp up (in my head) for work. I work today and starting saturday its six days a week.

I'm gonna just do it and not think about it. Just do it Im telling myself, lol.

Anne, is it tax season work again?

I wish Dolvett was here to help motivate me or at least Jillian to kick my booty. Didn,t graze last night yeah me! Legs are not my sexy thing, I,ll really have to work it. Laurie

Sherry - glad to hear that others have the same issue with one calf larger than the other, thought I was weird or something. No stop don't say it, I know what you are thinking, lol!

Anne - as long are you are getting your burn in, no matter what day it is. It all counts. I too went for the 150 (knowing Donna's mantra) but thought for the first challenge for our new members it might be nice to start slower and work up to it.

Denise, Donna & Laurie - no more sniffles ok? I don't need that crud coming back through internet to me. Just keep it please.....or give to some one you really don't like....maybe the tax man....

Just finished lunch, back to work.....

Hi everyone!

First - question - how should I count biking miles - same as walking/jogging miles?

Healing energy heading out to the sniffly/coughy ladies. I went through 2 weeks of it that started two weeks after I started my lifestyle change before Christmas. So, last week was really my first week back into focusing on my health (other than blowing my nose or peeing my pants from coughing too much! LOL).

Breakfast - smoothie made from non-fat greek yogurt with a full serviing of peaches and a full serving of blueberries. Heaven in a glass!
Lunch - don't laugh - shrimp and cheerios.
Snack - yellow squash, carrot, apple, ginger juice
Diner - no clue- was supposed to have a dinner meeting at Zaxby's, but it was cancelled.

Workout - all the treadmills were taken so I did 30 minutes on bike. I worked so hard that I had puddles of sweat on the floor under each of my elbows!

Going to try to get a before picture done today if I can stand to face myself in the mirror.

Happy Tuesday!!

I survived the flight yesterday and got some extra cardio by running with my rolly bag to catch the train. I have no idea what I'm eating today - just had a ham/cheese omelete and some coffee for breakfast. I'll work the rest out later.

I do have time at the gym carved out for later today though so calf workout - check, cardio - check.

I think I'm catching what everyone else has - my throat is getting a little sore. Maybe if I ignore it it will go away......

Wow!! I just got invited to go on a cruise that leaves Thursday! Two of my friends are going and they can add me to their room for 175.00. Can't beat that except that it is a bunk bed. LOL!! One of them is a lot smaller and said that she would take the bunk. Now I have a million things to do to get ready. The ship has a gym and always serves healthy options. Lots of fresh frtuit too. I am so excited.

Pam, you may be a little crazy at times, but nah, you're not weird.

Cathy, yes, count the miles the same. What a great workout. Puddles of sweat...that's cool. Your breakfast sounds delish. Do you do a lot of smoothies?

Renee, feel better! Take care of yourself.

Going to pack!!

Cathy,
For biking to make it a challenge and simple use 10min = 1 mile on the bike. So if u did a half hour that would be 3 miles. Unless u have a pedometer on you. If you use bikes pedometer it won,t be challenging since the ratio of biking to walking is 4 to 1. Or if you are a biker shoot for 160 miles a week. Laurie

Laurie, I am totally confused. Confused The bikes at my gym have odometers that measure the distance. One mile = one mile. You can do it quicker than walking, but it is still a mile. Biking 10 miles a week should be the same as walking 10 miles a week. Is this not right?

Also our challenge says walk, bike or trek 500 miles this year 160 miles each month would be almost 2000 miles. That can't be right.

Well it takes 4 hours to walk what it takes you an hour to bike. I want all movement to count. It wouldnt be very challenging to bike 40 miles was trying to keep an even playing field. Is that a problem, I,ll talk to Pam again. If u wear a pedometer it doesnt log the mileage like a bike. Remember it,s 10/miles a week, which is a half hour to one hour on a bike.
Biking 2000 would be equivalent of walking 500. Laurie

Cathy, Sherry and Sassy sistas,

Pam and I are going to keep it simple this challenge, a mile is a mile.
We don,t want to discourage anyone from exercising. So use your pedometer or odometer, keep in mind, the winner will be based on % of weight loss and 10 miles being completed each week. So u control your destiny, let,s kick some booty.
