What have you been doing right? Acknowlege where your at accept who you are right now and share what you have been doing that works.

My name is Sherry and I am pretty happy with where I am right now. I have been on this journey for a while, but just recently found what works for me. I lost 8 lbs on the Atkins diet during May and June and kept if off until I found something new in August. I am following a plan called the fast metabolism diet and have lost 8 more lbs since August 26, for a total of 16 lbs. I know for sure that carbs are not my friend...LOL!!

I am happy to begin another challenge with my Sassy Sistas and will continue to follow FMD and be committed to doing my best everyday. I will make mistakes, but my sistas will support me and get me going on the right track again.

You will find that this is one of the greatest groups of women that you could ever meet. They have become my family and will welcome each newcomer with open arms.

Woo Hoo!! Can't wait to get started!

Sandra here..... I am happy and thankful for where I am, as I know where I was 3 years ago. I started going to the gym, which made me want to start working on my diet, I started "Clean Eating" and I joined fatsecret, then bam.....there was this great group of women..... "The Sassie Sista's" that welcomed me with out thinking twice, and have truly become my family!!! They are the most supportive group of women that you will ever have the opportunity to knowExclamation Exclamation Exclamation

Knowing the transformation I have made thus far, makes me want more! I have maintained my current weight (with in 2-4 lbs) & body fat % for 2 years now. I know if I commit & dedicate myself 110% I can loose the last 5% body fat that I want gone. I always make the most progress during the winter season when I am in Florida. It is a lot easier to stay completely focused when I am away from home, Western NY.

I may come up missing from time to time on the challenge daily thread, as all you sassies know, but I always take each and every one of you with me in my heart & soul!!!

I am ever so greatful & thankful for the life I have the privilege of sharing & living with my Husband. Together we can and do any thing....."Go Team Bowman"

I think #5 is going to be the hardest for each of us, as we always take time from ourselves to give to others. I have had to learn that it is okay to be selfish and do for me.

What I do right is know who I am. I know my strengths and weaknesses. I know what I,m good at and what I,m not good at. I enjoy my exercise by doing activities I like. Tennis and hiking! I accept my strengths now I need to accept all of me. I,m even better at that. I berate myself far less and for less amount of time.

I truly like myself today and that is an accomplishment. I used to be such a hater, a victim. I,m independent and I take care of myself. I gave up on someone else rescueing me. Who better than me!!

As for my eating I keep fine tuning , started with Weight Watchers, and then BLC and now Fast Metabolism Diet,which is all about food is medicine and eating clean. Once youve eaten clean u feel so good there,s no going back.

Although there,s days I drift. Mostly I like where I,m at and I,m moving forward in life and on the tennis court. Love and decaf,Laurie

I'm back and I'm trying to stick with this. I know what works. The hard part is implementing it. Water, water, water! Stay the hell away from empty calories! Hard to do this time of the year. So I hope I can just maintain through this challenge. Wanted to disappear until after the new year and then was hoping for some magical jump start. NOPE, not waiting. Gonna keep an eye on calories in/calories out! I may not participate as much but I want to keep recording steps here to help out with the trip across the country. I might be able to handle this one if I concentrate on water and sweating. I just keep teetering on giving up, which I know will for sure not get me anywhere, and hanging in there, which is hard to do.

I don't like where I am presently. Changes are inevitable. I hope to control mine.

I am new to forums and challenges but I have been on FS for a while now. I dedicated myself to changing my lifestyle on August 5, 2013. My eating habits have been dictated by my emotional highs/lows. So, I am trying to express my emotions different than I have in the past. Frankly, I am scared I will waiver. I want to be here so that I can be held accountable and encouraged to go forward. In the last two months, I have maintained low calories and I have worked out at least every other day. I am down quite a bit, so I can say that this is working for me at least for now. I do strive to get a balance in my diet of 40% of calories from protein, 40% from carbs and 30% from fat. Although I sometimes struggle with getting that exact combination, it is what I am striving for. My endurance and energy level suffers when I have tried lowering carbs more than that. I am hoping to continue losing the weight with a focus on long distance running (only for me to finish races, not necessarily to win any medals). I'm looking forward to this challenge.

Took me forever to find this post to reply to, and am not even sure if this is the forum I signed up for. LOL. Wish me luck! Sarah here..I've been bouncing in and out of my 10# leeway for a couple months just need to get back to what I was doing when I lost the weight in the first place. I'm in the process of getting an online trainer who happens to be one of the trainers at the gym I go to so I can ask her ? and also her Fiance ? too since I take the Women's Total Fit class that he teaches.

Hi all, I am Pam and welcome to our new friends the real bluenote and 2manycurves. If it isn't too much to ask please sign your posts by first names. We want to get to know you all.

I began my weightloss journey with this wonderful group of sassies over on BLC and they have become my second family. I have been on FS since December where I started out a lower weight which has increased over time and I am attempting to gain control once again.

Stressful situations come along and derail you sometimes but it is time for me to get organized and work for what I want and stop putting myself last. Even though I have put some of my weight back on I am in a better place mentally and look forward to finishing out this year strong.

I too have a lot to lose bluenote so worries, we can kick this together.

Hi, I am Brenda. I think I am doing many of the right things to loose my weight, I am just in the wrong body!! I exercise daily, weights, enjoy hula hooping, and stationary biking. I also have a fast pace job.

Why do I struggle with weight issues? ~ I LOVE ♥ to eat!! Chocolate, chips, and ice cream. The least little slip up, I am up 3 -5 pounds. 95% of the time I track my food. I am an emotional/stress binge eater. I am a person that is very self- conscious and I have a very poor body imagin. I usually don't like to have my picture taken. I have lost 55 pounds. But I feel and see myself as a 200+ pound person.

Where am I at.....in about a month I am to have surgery. I DO NOT want to re-gain the weight I have lost!! HUGE concern! I will have to depend on someone else to take care of me for awhile. I am very particular about my food. But.....I will eat things so not to "hurt" someones feelings. I am SLOWLY learning to only eat what I want and like.

As for what works....most of the time~ drinking lots of water, tracking my food, and exercise.

***I am joining this challenge knowing I will not fully be able to participate. But I think I will enjoy the daily check ins during my recovery.

Hi I am Megan - aka Jedimom2.
I have been a member of Fat Secret for probably 4 1/2 years, but I got my log-on messed up and created one as Jefimom2, and finally got help combining my 2 accounts.
My journey started 4 1/2 years ago when I had a health scare - shortness of breath and was finally diagnosed with a heart condition - diastolic dysfunction. I was ordered to lose 20 pounds in a years time and put in the cardiac rehab unit to workout at the hospital. I discovered Zumba and became an addict and an instructor. I lost 75 pounds in the year the doctor gave me, but I put over half of it back on and tried unsuccessfully to lose weight on Weight Watchers and Curves and with my Soup Diet and Biggest Loser meal plans.
In February of this year, I took a leap of faith and trusted a good friend and fellow Zumba instructor and started Take Shape For Life.
Since February I lost 66 pounds and am now working on adding foods back to my diet and attempting to keep the weight off. I have done several different challenges on fatsecret to keep me motivated to stick with it.
I have now reached my goal weight - officially losing 100 pounds since May of 2009
I teach a crazy amount of Zumba classes per week - I own my own studio now and also teach at a local gym here in town that I have been trying to get the classes off the ground at.
I am also now a health coach for Take Shape For Life.
I plan on training for an 8K in this next challenge so that I can run the Shamrock Run in March.
And I want to get back to my weight training because lets face it - I want to get rid of the sagging skin that is left and I would like to be able to bare my stomach and be proud of what my abs look like.
I'm looking forward to the continuing the friendships that developed in the Finish What you Started Sista challenge - and Hey - I did finish what I started by losing the 100 pounds!

After you log in you will see My Toolbox on the right side of your screen. Click on that and then on Signature. You can add whatever kind of signature/quote text and choose to have your ticker added. Hope this helps.

Hey All

What works for me... Well #1 - the Sassy's here push me even when they don't know that they do... It is so much more than a chat group, most have become my friends and I feel I can count on any one of you to help me push through..

Clean eating truly is what has helped lately... What doesn't work is breads, white flour and sugars... they are not my friends...

Exercise and getting myself motivated to get to the gym is what truly works for me...

I started at 219 pds, tried Atkins, Fad Diets and all the rest that everyone else can name, Cabbage, Carbs etc... Then joined BL, this was very good to me especially adding the Sassy's in...

I am 180 lbs this weekend and I am within 20 lbs of my goal weight and I will get there... I feel I have maintained over 6 months with a 5 lbs up and down for ever... Time to get off the merry go round and get my butt back to the positive .... water.... and the correct way to eat..

I look forward to this challenge and getting to know all the new people and to get closer to some of the newer older people.

Hi, my name is Pammi and I have been on an incredible journey since last December 2. I was in a car wreck that should have killed me, and then they said I would never walk again but I did in 8 months. However all the time on the couch was horrible for me. I have lost 46.9lbs so far but I took the summer off because of a family situaation or I would be futher. I still have 105.8lbs to go for my goals weight. I am determined though and this challenge is perfect becasue it will take me up thru the holidays and past my Birthday on the 23rd of December. My 40th Birthday to be exact. I was hoping to be in the 1 hundreds by now but I am forgiving myself and moving forward. I am so glad to be here and am challenging myself to post what I have done on the challege every day. So excited to be here.

Yeah for victory!

I am still trying to figure out what works for me. This group keep me looking and trying. I have been trying for 2yrs now, lost 15 only to gain most back. Now I just stay within 3lbs up and down. I really need to lose. The weight hurts, lol. And now I have started some med that might make me gain. Don't let me sabotage myself knowing that!

Hi all, I'm Kat & I've been with the Sassies for quite a while now, first on BLC & now here. I know what works for me, do fine with exercise, but am still at times stuffing my face. This is a great group to be a part of as I embrace my second chance to avoid a 3rd back surgery!
Glad to see newbies!

Got off to a slow start this am...woke up with stiff legs & lower back & am still trying to get loose, must be the weather casue my office mate is complaining about the same thing. However, when I walked into the office, I got mugged by the office puppy who is doing his Friday is Happy Dog Day visit...made it worth coming into work!

Renee here,

Been with the group for coming up on 9 months now. In that time, I've reached my goal and have been maintaining pretty well. What's working for me is having this group of course and setting non negotiable goals for myself. I think my girlfriend summed it up nicely as she too is on this journey and is making wonderful progress.
She is treating this change as her job. This is what she does for a living. You may not always want to do it, but you have to do it to attain those other things you want (run a 5K?). She has a routine she does not stray from (much like a regular 9 - 5 job) unless she takes a "vacation day" (2 weeks/year this year)
I might try her philosophy this time around as winter is around the corner and that need to hibernate is sneeking up behind me Smile
