Hellooooo sistas,

I,m Laurie and a core group of women came over from biggest loser and landed here and this is where we support and give each other a hug or a kick depending on what is needed. This is a judgement free zone. A place to have a sister a friend, someone to be accountable to.
Personally, I,ve always fought my weight, myself amd I,m learning to accept who I Am and where my journey is in the moment. I lost 100 on weight watchers gained back half and relost on biggest loser. I have a grown son, a forever young lab and spend most of my time working, playing tennis and hiking in the hills I,m from Boise, Idaho.I,m constantly searching for a better way but know that gimmicks are not the answer. I feel change is an inside job along with daily exercise. I,m a clean eater at heart occasionally straying. I look forward to hearing your story enough about me!Shock

Hi Sistas!

I'm Kat & I'm one of the original Sassies who migrated here from the Biggest Loser, where I met my Sistas. I was on BLC for a year & lost some weight & found that this kind of support & sharing works for me. I've had back surgery twice in the last 27 months, it will be 6 months on Friday since the lst one & since one of the causes of degenerative disc is weight I simply have to get it off. I find mindset is the key; anyone interested read Coach Yourself Thin, it is a marvelous help keeping your head straight.
About myself...I'm the grandma of the group, since I'm the oldest. I live in Hollywood, CA & am still working at the Beverly Hills Library, the best little library in the country! I love to swim, do Pilates, & dance. Can't wait til all my sistas have walked will be a wonderful summer!
Oh yes, Laurie & I take care of the coffee!!

Hello my friends New and Old-

My name is Susan I am 47 years old and I too am from the original Biggest Loser group where I met you wonderful women! It all started back in Dec 2011 when I had reached my all time high of 227 pounds. I felt horrible and I developed Type II diabetes in 2007. Because of the weight and the diabetes my husband and I could not conceive on our own. So after many months of fertility shots and 2 miscarriages, we chose to adopt. I am so so very lucky to have my precious children in our lives. The twins will be 5 in July. My oldest is 25 and she is so thrilled to have the siblings in her life. Great birth control I tell her. LOL
I am a stay at home mom and a respiratory therapist which I am not sure I will ever go back to.

So with all that had happened to me I chose the path to be healthy. It's not easy and it will be a lifetime journey for me. Great thing is, is that I am no longer diabetic and lost my gall bladder last year in March for choosing the healthy way of living. Ha

I love to garden and I am now into running. I did my first 5K last year but yet to do one this year.

I wish you all the best in your journey and remember it all begins with a simple "I can do this!!" And never give up!!!

My name is Danielle and I'm 27 from Danville, Virginia. I am pretty new to the Sassie Sista group, this being my second challenge with the ladies. I have been struggling with my weight my entire life. You know the fat kid who was always in the class pictures? Yep, that was me. I come from a family of overweight individuals so I never really felt like it was a problem growing up. Since reaching adulthood I realize that I am not happy with the way that I look. Around Thanksgiving 2010 I stepped on the scale and saw that I was 293.2 pounds! During the first year I was able to lose about 40 pounds but it has been extremely difficult since then. I keep gaining and losing the same 10 pounds over and over again. I joined this group because I really need support in this fight against being fat. I have grown to love these ladies and their encouragement.

Quitting is NOT an option!

Sassie hello from Canada !

My name is Denise & I am one of the originals from BLC we have been together almost 2 yrs this November 30th for me. Without my sassies I would have regained + some and been miserable. We have had ups and downs, we have seen and encouraged each other thru many set backs, injuries, surgeries, birthdays anniversaries and even our successes..

I am married to a fantastic man for 25 yrs this August, we have 3 sons. Life has been an adventure to say the least. I always say each day is like a box of chocolates you never know what the day will bring. & also no one can take away my smile, it is who I am.

It is amazing what you can achieve physically, and emotionally with a great support group. You can be out somewhere and be doing something and then in the back of your mind the sassies are saying uH uH girl put that down! uH uH girl is that healthy? will that get you where you want to be? and you know they are only an entry on the thread away................

Here you get to be you, for you and no one else but you.
You will get as much as you put into it....

So jump on in say hello and start your journey today,
wise man once said why put off to tomorrow , what you could be living today!!!!!!!!!!!! and that goes with many things in your life.

Hello to all Sassy's new and old,

My name is Pam and I am 47 and married with two children (17 & 14). We live in Southeast Texas. I joined the BLC group in April of 2012 so I won't call myself an original sassy but all the love and support given you would never know it. Thank you my friends.

Growing up I was always the un-coordinated peanut of the group but have mostly struggled with my weight since having children. I was never overly athletic in school so I never developed a sense of confidence or true desire to participate in physical activity which has definitely caught up with me as I get older.

As of today, I am right back where I started a little over a year ago but it is time for a change. Not getting any younger and want to be around for my kids as they grow and excel in their lives.

I am looking forward to getting to know more about all the sassies!

Hey my name is Dyann. I have a little different story. I was always very skinny. Until I turned 35 then I gained almost 40 pounds. I am not like super overweight but I certainly want to slow the gain down. I feel like I am turning into my mother. I also am having a lot of trouble with motivation. I have no idea how to eat healthy and chocolate is my favorite food group. I would love to do a 5k or something like that. I would love to work out... but I know myself. The best way for that to work for me is a buddy. Anybody live in olathe, ks?? haha. But maybe a challenge will work for me. Please be patient... this will be my first challenge.
Also, I work full time in accounting. I am married for 17 years to a great guy and I have two teenagers 16 and 15.
I look forward to this challenge and hope I have the motivation to last all 8 weeks!!!

Hi Sassies, I'm Sarah and one of those that came over from BLC where I met this wonderful group of ladies. Back at the end of May last year I weighed 158.5 and decided to join a wonderful gym and met some awesome people who inspired me to lose the 38.5lbs that I needed to lose to reach my goal which I did in December of last year.

Dyann--What a conisidence one of the awesome people from the gym is down here for school but grew up in Olathe.
Everyday above ground is a great day remember that--Pitbull from the song Time of my Life.

Hello to all the oldies and welcome to all the newbies!!

I'm Sherry from Alabama and am also from BLC. I joined in April 2012, about the same time as Pam. I have been up and down since that time. Weight loss, for me, is a never ending battle. If I wasn't in this group of wonderful ladies, I shudder to think how far up I might have gone up by now. They have accepted me and all my flaws and never judge my mistakes.

I was married for 20 years and then one day my husband said he didn't love me anymore and my world as I knew it, ended. My weight has ballooned since then and I sometimes suffer very low self esteem, but thank goodness I have these sassies to remind me how wonderful I am. LOL!! I have 2 grown sons, 5 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. They keep me young.

Dyann, we welcome you with open hearts. There's no pressure. We are all at different levels. Just do what you can and strive to do more each day. The only person you are competing against is yourself. When I first started I could barely exercise for 10 min. and didn't even walk 1000 steps a day. My goal for June has been at least 5000 steps, which I never thought I could do.

I can't wait for the challenge to begin!!

Hello Sistas! My name is Venessa and I live in Louisiana. I have been slowly gaining weight over the past few years and we recently moved to Louisiana and everything is fried here!!!
So with that said i have gained even more weight and it needs to be gone.
I have never done a challenge on here but am very excited to meet new people and start droping these pounds.
I have a 6 year old daughter and my husband in active duty in the Air Force.

Hello all! My name is Breeze and I live in Portland, OR with my boyfriend and chihuahua Eva Smile I'm 29 and have worked at the same architecture firm for 6 years now. The office lifestyle has left me yo-yo dieting the last 4 years, trying to counter sitting for 10 hours a day with exercise during the few hours of free time each night! A few health issues in the last year have scared me into tracking my diet and exercise daily and helped me lose over 20 lbs so far in 2013. My goal is to lose another 20 by the time I turn 30 in December Smile I try to follow challenges on FS to keep myself accountable and learn new weight loss tricks to stay motivated!

Hello to All - New and Old...

My name is Donna, I'm from Michigan, and joined the Biggest Looser in January of 2011.. Where I met these Sassy woman, and have been motivated by their commitment, concern and love... It has been my pleasure to know that we can be ourselves here, happy, sad, up or down.. Its a place to find friends, ask questions and truly know that someone will step up to answer.. or try..

I'm married to my hubby Larry for 12 years, and no children. We did not get married until we were 40, and neither of us had children... Oh, don't feel sad... we have between us... 20 niece and nephews from ages (45 - 22), and currently have 14 (great nieces and nephews).. so I'm always going to a family function.. LOL

My journey feels like I started as a young girl where I went from a child's size 5 to a woman's 13.. My high weight was 219 lbs, and currently cant seem to get out of the 178 - 181 range.. I will get there..

I've tried so many different diets, fads and soups etc.. but truly am learning its life change to fresh veggies and fruits that I feel has kept me in these numbers vs, going back to the 210's..

Welcome to the new members, write what you feel, write what you do exercises, eating, life, share what you are comfortable with.. and know that these Sassys will always allow you to be yourself and know that each everyone is accountable truly to yourself!!
This is not a diet, it is about a life journey, I am committed and I will succeed!

Hi y'all! I am Becky from west Tennessee, the land of pulled pork and fried foods. Oriqinally a Hoosier but ended up here because its hub's stomping grounds. Never had significant weight issues until my 30's. Before that time if I needed to lose 5 pounds, I'd "diet" for a week and it would be gone. I am 47 yrs old now but my mind tells me I am still in my twenties. I am mom to two grown sons (28 & 30 yrs), one daughter-in-law, three grandkids, and a 100 pound golden retriever. I am married to the love of my life for 30+ yrs and if he doesn't drive me crazy I think I'll keep him another 30 at least! I joined Fatsecret last summer in July. Originally joined with my sister but since then have met so many new wonderful, supportive friends. Also, I have a very dear long-time friend on here with me who keeps in daily contact with me despite the many miles between us. I started running last fall and have three 5K's under my belt now taking third place for my age group this past March. I have lost 30 pounds over this last year but I really need to concentrate on sticking to healthier habits and jump start my weight loss journey. I am looking forward to this challenge doing just that; to kick my butt in gear!

Hey all, I'm Demetri and I'm originally from KY, hence the UK Cats sign on. I now live in Wichita, KS with my wonderful husband of 15 yrs, our 12 yr old son, a miniature schnauzer and a pit bull dog. I'm a paralegal in a plaintiff's firm so I'm tied to my desk for at least 8 hours a day.
I have slowly watched my weight creep up over the last 10 yrs or so and now I'm determined to get it off and get fit. I have started exercising and logging everything I eat. Man, when you have to enter it online, it makes you think about whether you really want to have those extra calories Smile
It's nice to meet everyone - Let's ROCK this challenge together!

Hi everyone!

I'm Laura from Maryland. I'm 29 and I'm a Floral manager with Safeway. I was a little heavy most of my childhood, but did not put on any real weight until I was 14. (I went from a size 8 to a size 14 in one school year!) After that I stayed around a 14 until I was out of high school... then I crept up to an 18 and stayed there. This past winter my 18's started getting tight, and I wanted to lose weight, but I was still un-motivated. (being lectured by my family members doesn't help!) Confused

In February, my bff Maggie (who is 5'1" and 90 lbs!) invited my to go with her and some friends to Comic-Con in San Diego in July. I wanted to go, but part of me kept thinking about bad 'Plus size girls in costumes' jokes... and then it hit me. It was within my control to change.

So the next day I started trying to watch what I ate, and exercise more...And in March I re-discovered Fat Secret.

That was 105 days ago.

This is my first challenge w/this group, and I'm hoping to kick some serious booty! (Even if it's my own!) Wink

Hello! I am Brenda. I live in a little "burg" town in central Indiana. Growing up, I did not have a weight problem. But like many ladies, after having my first child, the pounds packed on. My weight lose journey began about a year and a half ago. I would be 55. I felt so uncomfortable in public, nothing would fit right, (still have those issues!) I was concerned about health problems... the list goes on!

To date I have lost 50 pounds. I have more to loose. When I am asked how I lost the weight, I answer, "With Weight Watchers and a stationary bike." Last summer I learned to hula hoop, I had always wanted to learn. I LOVE IT!! I hoop every chance I get!

I have reached a plateau. When a long-time dear friend, invited me to join this challenge I was very excited!!! This is the "kick start" I need to get myself going again!! I am technology challenged, so please bare with me! In fact this is the second time I have tried to make this entry....I somehow delete....Confused

And..OH!...sorry, no coffee for me! I am a tea drinker! A cup or 2 of hot tea first thing in the morning!Very Happy

Hi! I'm Anne, married almost 27yrs, two grown boys (25 & 21) the oldest is getting married in a few weeks! And the younger is going away to we will officially be empty nested. Not sure how I feel about that since the youngest will be far far away, lol.

I always thought I was fat, looking back I just had a figure really young...and got fat with my first pregnancy. Did good maintaining with the second and after 30 slowly creeping up. I am still up, but stronger and actually crave healthier foods now. Took me a long time to get here, but I sure would like to get somewhere else sooner, rather than later, lol! I notice I have to be careful of injury more (old ya know, lol) and my feet really hurt if I get over 4000 steps a day. Working on that.

Here is to embracing change...Yikes!

Hi all,

New to challenges - been on fatsecret for almost 2 years, but not consistent. This summer I am getting serious! I realized the other day that I am now 102 pounds over my high school diving weight, and I did not consider myself skinny then, even. Where did it all come from? 30 pounds in college, 10 pounds per pregnancy (3 kiddos), and 40 pounds in grad school - eating junk food to power through those late nights studying! So yeah, that adds up to 100, doesn't it? Something has got to change! I am tired of hating the pool/beach because of my weight, want to feel good in the water again and just have fun with my kids - ages 13, 9, and 7, and husband, too. I started riding my bike to work this month, it's about 20 minutes each way. I will be picking up a fitbit or similar tonight or tomorrow, hoping that will motivate me to move more during the day at work.

I love the no snacks after dinner challenge because that is my downfall (well, one of them, lol). I will be trying to just drink iced tea or iced coffee - black, unsweetened, which is the way I like it - or water to keep hydrated and satisfied in the evenings.

excited to try something new - joining a challenge - and hear your stories this summer!
