Morning All.

I found a picture my son took of my upward bow so posted it. I can't believe I can actually hold myself up!!! I need to strengthen my wrist before I can hold it longer or raise a leg - about 15 years ago I had a repetitive motion injury from typing and ever since I "cheat" on planks, downward dogs, pushups, basically anything that uses the wrist. So about a month ago I decided to start doing them correctly with the whole hand on the ground. It is slow-going, but I do see progress.

Points for Thursday: 4
Steps for Thursday: 4024 (I dropped my pedometer on my run and lost everything from the morning and most of the run Sad )

Two big goals for today - 1) I am going to brave the streets of Atlanta with my bike 2) I am going to teach my niece to make sushi!

It's Friday!!!

May I be healthy.

I got up a little earlier than usual and have been packing. A friend and I are getting a hotel room for the night and going to see Lynyrd Skynyrd. If you don't know them, they are a Southern classic rock band. They sing the song Free Bird. How many of you have heard of them? The concert is about 45 min. from here and we don't want to drive home late. We are going over early and hang by the pool before the concert.

Steps for Thurs were 5738 and 5.

Everyone have a great day!!

Happy Friday!

Yesterday:
steps - 7,770
track food - yes
fiber - 32.8g
no snack - yes
strength - yes

I am back to work on Monday and my son has a soccer camp in Ann Arbor, so he'll be coming in to work with me. My plan is to bring my bike and ride to my office from the soccer joint and back to pick him up (3 miles each way). Went for a great bike ride yesterday to check out the route. There is a big hill, about 150ft elevation change over 0.3 miles, which is fun on the way in, but tough on the way back!

going on a little road trip this weekend - to Grand Rapids, visit the Meijer Gardens, then the Hartwick Pines State Park, then to visit family in Saginaw.

Susan, the birthday party and car surprise sound wonderful!
Jen, great photo!

off to pack for our trip, then mow the lawn.

Watching the grandkids again today and busy cleaning.

Food track ~ check
Steps: 22,240
Strength ~ check
Fiber ~ no
No snack after dinner ~ check

Meg, nice on the biking and it's been a long time since I've been to Michigan. So beautiful up there.

Sherry, LOVE Skynyrd!!!! Saw them last month in Chattanooga! Have you liked them on FB? They post really cool photo sessions! Pic moved to SSSS photos.

Jennifer, do you do the planks on your hands or elbows. I've been doing them on my elbows. Tried to do them with my shins on my physio ball but that's TOUGH!

Anne, have fun on your trip.

Susan, sure the kiddos will have fun with the new car!

Hope you ladies and the rest of the Sassies have a great day!

Good morning Sassies! I am one tired sassie! Yesterday I ended up working an extra 2 hours to help with a local history program we had here at the library. The presenter was not computer savvy so she begged me to stay and help, which i did. Turned out to be great program. It was about this huge racial riot that happened here in Danville, Virginia in 1963. It was so bad that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. came here and made a speech about the police brutality. It was a major thing. My mom came to the program and she spoke about her memories from that day. She was a young girl but she remembered how scared she was. It was really kool because she was looking through the pictures that were on display and she found her 2 brothers in one of the pictures! That made her day!

After working over I went home to eat dinner really quick because i hate eating dinner so late. I did indulge in a small piece of cake at the event. I made sure I got the smallest piece with the least amount of whipped icing. Lol. It was just enough. So after dinner I completed the strength workout plus my cardio/strength routine that I posted. After all of that working out and running up and down the stairs here at work getting everything ready for the program, i looked at my pedometer and it said I only made 2400 steps!!! I know that was a crock! But every time I wear the pants I wore to work yesterday, I get low numbers. I don't know what it is about these pants. I've positioned the pedometer in many different places but it just does not work very well with the pants. O well. I jumped on my treadmill until I got over 3500 steps. After that I crashed!!! lol

Track: Y
Strength: Y
Steps: 3688 (but i know it should be WAY more than that!)
Fiber: Y
No snack after dinner: Y
Total: 5 points!!!

Sorry it's so big but here is my lunch I threw together last night. It's called the I need to clean out my frige and get rid of these veggies before it goes bad bowl! haha

I started out by cooking some brown rice. While that was going I threw in some large cooked shrimp, chopped zucchini, red onion, fresh baby spinach, chopped cooked broccoli, and a can of diced tomatoes.

It tastes pretty good!

Afternoon Everyone!

Meg - Grand Rapids is my hometown, and I get back there once or twice a year. Haven't been to the Meijer Gardens in years though. I'll be back in GR later this month.

Becky - I used to do all the poses that required weight-baring of hands with my wrists up (so they were straight and I just used fingers), or by making a fist instead of bending the wrist and using my palm. This let me strengthen my arms and avoided pain in the wrist, but didn't strengthen the wrist and has me at a standstill to progress. So I'm going back and learning to do them correctly, slowly. I do some poses on my elbows (like the dolphin variation of downward dog), but I do these for strengthening the shoulder, not avoiding the wrist. I look pretty funny doing push-ups now - I'm basically on my knees in an all fours position and can't go down even half way - when I do them my old way I could do about 10 girl pushups per set before I started to get tired. These wrists need work!

Off to pick up the rest of the stuff I need to take with me..

Laurie, yes mine is reading all the way across too!!

I have arthritis so modify the planks and push ups on the elbows or on a stiff wrist, cuz the wrist doesn't bend like it use to..

Ok I'll check in later.

It's the pictures that is causing the text to go all the way across and not wrap around. If it's a problem, I can edit my post to remove the pic. Just let me know. I don't want anyone to not be able to read the posts here.

Evening Sassies, Points for yesterday 5 and steps 15,045.

I too noticed something not right about the text and think it might be the picture but not sure.
