Good morning! Yesterday as a great day - made back raspberry pancakes in the morning, which is a tradition when the black raspberries in the yard get ripe. I enjoyed them in moderation! Smile Then a short bike ride to the parade, and after lunch spent about 2 hours hiking in Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor and my kids declared it the best trails ever. Very hilly and varied terrain. We watched a deer for a while, just eating some leaves about 20 feet away from us. We went down by the river and watched people canoeing. My kids climbed trees and we all just had a great time playing together! Smile BBQ in the evening, but actually thinking about choices to make it healthier instead of going with the same stuff I would usually do, then a movie. Came in at 10,569 steps for the day.

Did the strength in the evening - Denise, thanks for your encouragement yesterday re: teens! I am good with my youngest - age 7 - she inched right along with me on the first day - but for some reason the teens intimidate me, kinda silly I guess. And actually of the two of them, the younger one is more likely to judge people on appearance. Yesterday she asked me why I was doing the curls and I told her so I would have strong arms, and she said, "and so you won't be very fat?" :/ gee, thanks kid! and then I told her it was her bedtime...which it totally was, lucky for her! Smile

OK enough babbling on...
log food, check!
no food after dinner, check! (we *almost* went out to get an ice cream, but decided to watch a movie instead, whew!)
fiber, check, 31.5g, good white bean salad with dinner:

2 cans white beans, drained and rinsed,
1 container cherry tomatoes, halved
1/4 red onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
fresh basil, about 10 leaves chopped
2T EVOO
3-4T red wine vinegar
black pepper to taste

just mix all that up in a bowl.

yum, and >10g fiber per ~3/4 c serving.

5 points for Thursday!

Happy Friday everyone!

Hello Sassies!

Track: Y
Steps: 4089 (watched a bunch of movies with the fam. Not much walking!)
Strength: Y
Fiber: Y
No food after dinner: Y
5 points!

Well yesterday started out soooo great. I controlled myself around all that food and I enjoyed family time. Everything was great until right before the fireworks. Well I have this ex who has been talking with me a lot lately. He wanted to give it another try and I told him we could start over and see how it goes. Well he called me last night right before firework time. He proceeds to come clean and tell me that he had lied to me. He told me that he was married but legally separated but his wife was still living in the house with him! I was completely livid!!!!! When we had met he told me he had been engaged but they broke up. Didn't tell me he was married!!!!

So I ended up watching the fireworks completely in tears! I HATE when someone lies to me...especially something THAT major! But all n all I am soooo proud of myself. Usually I would have grabbed the biggest carton of ice cream I could find and eat away my sorrows. But I just simply went to bed. So there is progress and something good out this story. Sorry if this is tmi but I just had to vent!

Morning sassies,
Love all the sassy sharing.

Holidays bring out all the food and drama. I,m usually alone on holidays and used to be jealous of all the family and friend barbeques. I,ve realized I truly enjoy my alone time and can do what I want when I want and get enough socialization thru work. Usually I justify on holidays over eating and drinking which is okay if I truly enjoy. I,m learning asI get older I enjoy not overdoing and truly love having a healthy meal withthout breaking my plan. I,m in the zone remind of these feelings if I falter. 12 days for me wothout an evening snack.

Danielle u are fierce and so worthy of a loving honest man don,t settle.

High five,8664 steps.

Decaf coffee please, Laurie

Well....yesterday was not pretty. I am waiting for an email from FS kicking me off!!! If WW finds out, they may do the same. Yesterday the girl that lives inside of me made an unwelcome appearance. And boy, did she ever appear! Some of you may be familiar with her....the one who thinks holidays are a free for all, the over eating out of control girl. Yea...that one! My grown kids came for a cookout. My son had been texting me the day before with a list of all the food he wanted. Kicking in to "I want to please my son, and LOVE him with food" mode. I got him everything on his list. I ate it too! I think more of it than he did....fortunately for him...he KNOWS control!!! Overall, it was a very nice day.

Denise...I like your "time out". I need to exercise that!
Danielle....it is ok to vent. We all need that. I do agree with Laura.

Well, here goes....
Tracking....yes I did. On FS. I did not keep tally of my WW points. But "SEEING" all that I ate right before me....WOW!!! Had I not been in this challenge. I would have stopped entering. I have to thank SSSS for this wake up call. I MADE myself be accountable. I am making this entry.
Move...yes. A lot of walking to and from parade, several walks with dog, didn't wear pedo though. Did do 50 min on bike, and 15 min hooping.
Strong...A+D
Fiber....OH YES
After dinner.....really!!!?? Grazed all day!
4 pts.

So far...today has started pretty good.
Hubs wants to shop.....that isn't good!

@Danielle

It's not tmi. You looked the 'emotional eating' monster in the eye, and proceeded to kick it's a$$! Even though being lied to hurts, take a moment to remember that HE is the one who should feel bad, not you, for doing that.

Don't worry. Someday you'll turn the right corner and meet the right man, one who's worthy of the amazing sassy that is you!

Hi All.

I get two whole points for yesterday - the movement point and the fiber point. My phone tracked 11K+ steps on the run, and it was a mile walk in and out on the train. I took a nap and did not much else for the rest of the day. No tracking my food . No strength training. And I enjoyed every bite after dinner. I had planned the meals they day before so I would get my fiber in. Smile

Summary:
Track Food - N
Movement - 11K + Y
Strength - N
Fiber - Y
No eating after dinner - N

Danielle - Congratulations on handling your emotions without food, especially such strong emotions. I am so sorry he lied to you, I know how much it hurts. But I am so glad you found out before things went further.

Brenda - I do the same thing - try to show my love with food. I'm trying very hard to learn other ways to do this, but it comes so naturally and I enjoy cooking. What always seems so strange to me though is that it is never as big a deal to anyone else as it is to me. If I make the cookies they eat them, if I don't they don't even seem to notice. I need to learn that they don't "feel" love from me cooking the same way I "feel" loving when I cook.

Jennifer

May I be healthy.

Brenda: I know that girl very well! You should have seen me last week when I was at the hospital with my mom! Gained 10 pounds!!! It's hard when you have a bunch of family around who doesn't eat like you do. I'm so glad I live alone and can cook whatever I want!

TGIF Sassies! Sounds like you all had a good 4th. We had a bbq/swim party in my apartment building...did a lot of swimming/water exercises & barely managed to eat right; way too much food, but I stuck to salad, fruit, & bbq chicken...did sneak in 1 rib! Avoided dessert thankfully.

TOTALS FOR THURSDAY:
Steps-3762 (estimate)
Points-4
1. track-y
2. no snack-y
3. fiber-22 g-y
4. cardio/steps-y
5. strength-n (planned rest day)

Becky-I love it when my rings slip around!

Donna-good, I'm glad you moved my post.

Laurie-how did Gwen get to the fish?? Coffee's ready.

Meg-hike sounds great

Danielle-bummer about the x; at least he came clean before you got involved with him again.

Brenda-I know that girl so well!

Gotta work, dang it! HURRY UP & GET HERE SISTAS I'M READY TO PARTY! TTY later.

Hello everyone!

I had a great 4th with my sister. We went to a lake and watched a huge fireworks show. It was sprinkling rain but we still enjoyed it.

Danielle, we are here for you. Please feel free to share your feelings. Keeping them inside, does more damage.

Steps for Wed were 4575 and 5 pts.
Steps for Thur were 6986 and 5 pts.

Going home tomorrow.

Kat, loved your welcome. It brought back lots of memories of the places I visited a few years ago and gave me ideas of where I want to go if I ever visit again.

Hello everyone,

I am taking it easy today and it was so nice to sleep in, didn't get up til 10:30. The only thing on my to do list is clean house.

Thank you for the lovely welcome Kat, glad to be visiting California again, lol.

Yesterday steps were 9,676 and only three points since I ate after dinner and no strength since margaritas and inchworms don't mix. Hope everyone had an enjoyable 4th.

Meg thanks for the recipe, I will have to give that a try.

Danielle, so sorry dear what a bummer, but it is better to find out now. Don't feel alone on the fireworks, I had to go to the park by myself to watch the fireworks since my hubby has become ever so distant and goodness knows I wouldn't intrude on my daughter and her friends hanging out.

Have a great day everyone!

@Denise

Yeah, I do. My sister says I'm "obsessed" because I log everything I eat before I eat it...and that I won't 'guess-tamate' my amounts! (Unless I'm eating out or at a friend's house)

Maybe it is a little obsessive.... oh well, it seems to be working! Lol!

Denise,
My bubble butt and all the other jiggly parts of me were shaking at 9Round during my 30 minute kickboxing, punching, squats, lunges, toe touches, weight lifting jumping jacks, knee highs, round kicks, jab/cross, undercuts, mountain climbers, front kicks, & (whew) crunches workout! (I think that covers it all.) And thanks for asking. I had not been in the last 3 weeks!
