Remember that doing 20 push-ups in a day is not a failure. The idea is to do as many as you can so 5 push-ups at a time 5 times per day is great. The only failures are not doing it at all.

At the same time if 100 per day is easy for you bump your personal goal up to 150 or 200. The idea is to make these habits.

Additionally, if you aren't a fan of crunches (as I am not, I think they put a lot of stress on your back, spine, neck, etc.) ... we can substitute something like the UNC Medicine Ball Workout or other ab activity, yes? That's like 200 reps of ab rotations with a medicine ball in various ways that not only works the abs but works the whole body too, and can also top off the lunge challenge since some of the moves are squat/lunge type exercises.

Any ab workout will be fine. The idea is to perform the reps. I use a stability ball "Yoga Ball" to do my crunches. Much easier on the back and it helps isolate your abs.

I did 25 pushups in a row! Then.. I keeled over. But.. I did 25 pushups in a row! I know it hasn't started yet but I had to see how many I could actually do.

They weren't pansy pushups either or assisted pushups where you lean on a desk.. they were honest to pete pushups.

Pickles!!!! 25 reps in one set is awesome!!!! In fact most guys I know keel over after 20!!!!

On a side note I finally got to use "pickles!!!!!" Keep it up. I actually started 2 days ago. I am running 4 sets of 50 throughout the day. Only doing 4 sets of 30 crunches on my stability ball. Haven't started the lunges yet. I hate those things. If I can get my diet right I may see my abs by summer.

Because I'm still heavy, could I use my stairs to assist in a push up? Iusually use them for tthat purpose instead of a push up on hands and knees, feel more of a burn that way.

You can use any method that works for you. If you feel a burn it is working. If your method seems too easy then increase your reps. The idea here is to make this a normal routine. Stick with it and you will see results withing the 4 weeks.

Remember the only failure in this challenge is not doing it at all.

I do pushups every other day. Today I did 25 regular (guy) pushups, 10 decline from 2 different angles each, 3 diamond pushups, and 3 partial handstand pushups with my toes supporting me. I guess I'll do more on pushup day. My goal is to do 100 on my 58th birthday in May.

I think maybe I'll build up to doing 100 hanging leg raises on pullup day. No real pullups or chinups yet, but I am getting closer.

Remember that this does not mean you have to do 100 pushups at one time. Spread them out throughout the day. 10 20 or 30 at a time. Whatever works best for you.

This challenge is reminding me how out of shape I am, but by the end of it, I should be in pretty decent shape. No pain, no gain! Smile

I actually knocked this out before I left the house for work this morning. My goal today is to double it.
