I absolutely LOVE bread and I know that I eat way too much of it. So, I am willing to try this challenge out but I need some healthy bread substitutes for my turkey burgers! lol

My coworker suggested using large mushroom tops. Has anyone else tried this? How is the taste?

Any other suggestions?!?!?!? Confused

Thanks! Seems simple! I've never purchased flaxseed meal so this should be interesting! Seems rather high in calories through Confused

This is my absolute FAVORITE!!! I'm not sure what diet you are following-Its not showing me from here. But a lot of low-carb dieters use flaxseed to make breads/muffins as it is high in dietary fiber and has a very low net carb count (low impact on blood sugar). If you are counting calories-you could always use fat free cheddar cheese instead- (but keep in mind that fat free cheeses are higher in carbs).

As far as mushroom tops go- Portobello mushrooms are awesome with burgers and chicken. It will be difficult to have a top and bottom bun-using these. But you could definitely put the cooked Portobello on the bottom and then top with burger, cheese, lettuce, tomato, etc. I like to top them with chicken breast and mozzarella and put in oven. Mmmm....Good luck!!

if it is simply a bread replacement you looking for and not on a specific diet ...what about using potatocake baked ....mashed potatoe and flour with seasoning roll into a ball ,flatten and bake the circcle in the oven
