Hello, I am concentrating on seeing how my body reacts to nutritional ketosis. I have been successful so far and have able to keep my blood ketone level to a 1.6. I will see if I can nudge it a little higher with time.

Hi newlife
How do you check that, is it with ketone test strips?

Good Morning All - Checking In.... Started off good yesterday and then someone brought cake! What the heck. Just had a taste... but then my brain got the best of me - and said well you cheated - so might as well cheat good. (So I had chips and salsa last night) Ugh. NEW DAY!!
And a happy day to you all.

Hi everyone just checking in it has been a crazy week, but I am doing well with my low carb choices, of course as life would have it I am coming down with a cold and what do I want hot sauce and chips, but instead I am going to have some scrambled eggs with some jalepeno's and try to fool my body into thinking it got the hot sauce and chips fix. Smile

Morning!Amy wow hard isn't it once you cheat, the naughty side of the brain floods you with temptations! Be good today-send those naughty thoughts away quickly Smile
Dal I hope your cold goes quickly, good choice for breckie.
It's absolutely pouring down here and high winds on the way. I just had a call and I don't have to go to work, the weather is too awful! So I'm going to paint all day!
Took a chicken out of the freezer for dinner-hope it thaws in time, pork sausages for lunch, I've found a farmer who makes her own sausages from her own pigs so I know they are very low carb, they are really yummy with a real herb taste.

Amy, I can so sympathise. Every Tuesday someone in my office brings donuts! Every Stinking Tuesday!! I've started keeping almonds and atkins bars in my drawer so I have a go to when that naughty side of the brain starts to rear its ugly head!! It is a new day and you can start all over making good choices. If you don't, that's ok. Just start over again. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Just keep on keepin' on!

Ugh @ donuts and cake! My children and I live with my mom and step-dad and someone is always baking something. Cookies, pies, cakes. They bring all sorts of things into the house like chips and dips, snack crackers, soda pop and whatnot. It's all so very tempting, but I've chosen to restrain myself, somehow lol. I do get a little pay-back on them, though, when I make an awesome-tasting low-carb meal or dessert for myself and only give them a taste.. lol.

Aww those temptations, so hard, you girls have got it right by making sure you have an alternative to eat, I too keep an Atkins bar in my bag, if we have coffee whilst we are out shopping or where ever, my husband always has a muffin or cake type thing, I would be tempted if I didn't have that bar handy.
What deserts do you make Angie, I don't have many recipes. I usually fall back on diet jelly, berries and cream, sometimes I whisk a block of cream cheese with the warm jelly and put into individual serving bowls, then refrigerate, they are nice for snacks.

Hi everyone just checking in, I have been doing well with induction, although I am really starting to hate eggs. I also keep an Atkins bar and a small bag of vegetables in my bag for those moments when I need something extra. There have been days where I have been very tempted to have a cheat, but I try to remember what is important to me and somehow get through it.

I work at home, so I am not tempted by other people's goodies, but I am only a few steps away from my own kitchen. Sometimes it is really hard to stop nibbling at things.
One thing that helped me was baking lemon sponge cake using Splenda and Coconut Flour. It is pretty low carb and even low cal and tastes just like cake. I'll post the recipe if anyone is interested.

Made an old favourite, shepherds pie for dinner, had it with green string beans and broccoli, very good-the 'mash' was made with cauliflower butter and cream.

Well it's Monday morning here in Australia, the start of the challenge for me, I am sorry to say I bombed out over the weekend, and have gone from 74.8k to 76.2k kinda over 2 days yikes, I am hoping it's all fluid retention. This challenge came at just the right time for me... I am determined to lose all that gained weight this week. Started off with 1 egg and 2 pcs of bacon, tuna and salad for lunch. I am going to walk for 30 minutes minimum!
What's your plan?

Hello, checking in. The day has barely started, but it's a crazy week, so this will be my best check in times right now. I've already had to choose sleep over exercise, and that's pretty much what my week will look like. I'll up date y'all on today, tomorrow!
