Can someone explain exactly what the 4th mini challenge means?

It means you have to find your base calories a day just for being alive. Then you add in calories burned for any exercises you do. Once you get that total, subtract 1000 calories from that, and that is the calorie count you are allowed for that day.

I think it means that you need to burn more calories every day than you ingest. So, once you figure out how many calories you burned with exercise/activities, then subtract that number from your food diary calories. The number should end up being 1000 or less. Does this sound right to everyone else?

Right. The idea is to lose 2 lbs a week (or 7000 calories). So we need to burn 1000 more calories/day than we eat. If that is more than you want to lose/week. Adjust it accordingly. Good luck to everyone!!

Keep in mind you burn calories for just being alive. Which is different for everyone. There are a lot of places you can go to estimate your calories burned throughout the day. Fat Secret is one of them. Go to you diet calendar and enter in your activities in the day. Then you should have a net loss of 1000 calories/day.
