It is said that we are not aware of what or how much we really eat. All the extra and empty calories we consume are the reason we dont lose weight. You will be amazed when you first start recording what your ingesting. It never ceases to amaze me how many calories an item will have.

Personally I use and app on my phone to record my food and fitness. If you take it with you, like your phone, you have no excuse not to record it.

This is like a game. Play the game and have fun Smile

So true! Most people eat more than 3000 calories a day without realizing it, and wonder why they can't lose any weight... even eating 'healthy' food.

I watched a program from the uk that did an experiment with a woman who felt she had a low metabolism, a common complaint, and thats why she couldnt lose weight. According to the program a slow metabolism is a very rare thing for a healthy person. They tested her urine in some way showing how many calories she ate each day while she wrote them all down. By the end of the week they compared. She stayed at 1500 according to her records only to find out she was in fact eating 3000-4000 cal/day. They felt she miscalculated the quick on the run snacks, dressings, and beverages. Makes you wonder how badly we miscalculate. Another test they did was make meals into soup instead of eating meals with a glass of water. They found out soup stayed in the system longer therefore making you feel full longer. And they too came to the conclusion eating/drinking dairy is a good thing. It helps by adhereing to the fat so it all doesnt get absorbed and some gets washed out through the system instead. Interesting stuff.
