Well this is the week that it happened...I gained a pound. It was bound to happen. I stepped up my working out. Everything I've been reading started that cardio with strength traiining will helpburn more fat but you will likely gain weight first. So please tell me how to look past the scale? I had hoped to lose weight before the strength training. I welcome all suggestions and or comments.

I'm not much help, but keep going. This is my first week and TOM happens before my weigh in on Tuesday so the very first week, will probably show a gain Sad

I can tell you that my sister weight trains and is a very healthy perfect weight person, so I know that people who eat well and weight train do get and stay healthy. I'm sure you will get there. Give it 2 more weeks of weight training and eating well and I'll bet you get a drastic loss one of the those weeks and it'll make up for this week.

Thanks Tammy. Thus far a drastic weight loss for me is two pounds. When most people begin they usually have a big loss of up to five pounds. Must be nice. My Christmas present to myself was supposed to be a two pound loss this week. I desperately wanted to start the new year at 179. I appreciate the encouraging words because this setback makes me want to throw in the towel

I know how you feel. With 130 pounds to lose I often feel that no amount of weight loss each week is enough to get to my goal. I just have to continue to look at the 10% rule. the "rule" is that with every 10% of weight loss the health does great improvements. So, my first goal is 10% - a 27 pound weight loss. so, yours would be 18 pound weight loss. We can do this!!!

Well, you weigh much less than I so maybe you can go by less, like 10 pounds. Wish I knew more to help support you. Either way you'll do this. 2013 is the year for health for us all! Smile
