I've lost 30 pounds since last October (I've got about 25-30 lbs to go) but I've been slacking the past few months. I try to eat clean and unprocessed...my husband, not so much! Sometimes it's just easier to give in and join him when he's eating something I've sworn off eating. I pay for it though because I usually feel horrible later (achy, tired, etc.). Especially when I eat something with lots of sugar..I have such a sweet tooth! I've started focusing not so much on losing weight, but rather on being healthy. Now when I crave something sweet, I just have some fruit. Smile

Hello Sassies...OMG I LOVE this bunch! I had lost 25 pounds before the latest round of back surgery & then have gained 13 of it back & now seem to be stuck on a plateau. Doc's have now told me to do one thing at a time...right now it's better to get the weight off than to stop smoking...so I'm back smoking...but only about 5 cigs a day. I really, really want to get down to 130. I think (no I KNOW) that what gets in my way is the getting frustrated with just how long this current healing process is taking; even though the docs & the therapists are all really pleased with me & telling me how far I've come I still look back at where I was just before the disc herniated for the second time & get p-o'ed at myself. Having no problesm with exercise, its the munchies...

I am at goal so I guess what has been helping me is still watching what I eat but I do now and again allow myself a treat without getting upset that I blew my "diet". I still workout 4 days a week and a lot of the time it's really intense. I don't think of it as being on a "diet" it's more about a lifestyle change which I have made but need to get back to being more strict at.

Kat, I had a double laminectomy several years ago and gained some weight while I was recovering too. I worked in an office when I had my surgery and sat most of the day. For the longest time, I thought I would always be in pain. I quit that job and the job I have now requires I stand most of the day. I almost never (almost never) have back pain anymore. I think standing and walking around all day has made my back a lot stronger. Good luck to you!

Good day, another round with the sassies. I would be so worse off without the support. I would have to say what has held me back is me.....I work shift work and sometimes am just so mentally exhausted that easy is the way.....But that was last week not this week. So trying a new way and to stay out of processed, quick fixes. Eat as clean as I can and proper portions (sometimes that means eating more of something, ) now that is a change in habits..... Working out is an enjoyment to me , it helps the stress and mind and soul......

Looking forward to another sassie adventure........welcome to all Smile

Nana, that's what I've noticed. If I get up out of the chair & move even just a little about every 30 minutes I'm ok. I still have a problem with standing for any length of time but walking is ok. Pilates-based physical therapy is keeping me giong.

Hello Sassys!

What keeps me from loosing weight? Me!! I am a binge/stress eater! I have had my world rocked so hard.....haunts me. Memories. I will go along and seems I do everything right and loose. Them BAM!! I am this crazy woman ...out of control. The last year and half, give or take, I have lost 50+ pounds. I have clawed and scratched for every single one of them. I would love to loose another 15-18. There is a possibility of surgery in my future. STRESS! I have come so far. I can't and will not give up. I fear a set back. STRESS.

I am so happy to continue on with these Sassy Sisters....we will ROCK!!

Greetings!

Well, I was at goal but decided to go for another 10 and now I have 5 left although I have to admit I'm quite happy where I'm at. Maintenance is much harder than losing so staying constant for a few weeks is very exciting. The last 5 will go slowly.
What's worked for me is this group, tracking everything I put in my mouth (yep, everything!) and not thinking in terms of diet (short term) but lifestyle change (permanent). I workout when I can and when the body is willing and if I don't its ok; although I do love a long bicycle ride and hate to sit still. And I always have a goal in mind. My newest goal - rock my little white dress this October on vacation, details to follow Smile

Hello Sassies and Newbies alike,

I would say what holds me back, sometimes friends, sometimes stress and most the time just giving in. It is so easy to give in and sometimes they don't mean it but don't stop until you have a drink something to eat or it's just one.. Ugh,

What works, Encoragement, knowing you are not the only one struggling. Knowing that if you have a question or need an answers one of these Sassies have been through it or know it. accountability, you can't lie to yourself, you can vent and know that everyone here understands.. Or will tell you what u need or give u a kick if that is what you need..

I love this group and truly feel I would not be where I am without you all! Thanks for always having my back..

Looking forward to the new Month!!!!

Hello sistas,

What keeps me from losing weight? Simply put me, I love food, all types of food and can't seem to stay focused on my true goal of getting healthy or maybe feeling worthy of getting healthy. It seems that I can stick to a "program" for a short time and then poof stress sets in and I overeat.

I have allowed the fact that there is absolutely no support at home from my husband, tbh quite the opposite, for my desire to lose weight for much to long. This journey would be so much easier if I were single living on my own.

I am so thankful for this group of sassy sistas to give me the encouragement I need and to pick me up when I fall off the wagon. When I first met the sassies, I was able to drop twenty pounds, but have since put all of that back on and am back at square one.

Currently, I am trying to find the correct eating plan that I can fit into our budget and where I don't have to cook different meals for everyone. Not so easy since they don't like vegetables, etc. Their preference is all processed and junk food, yuck!

I have been off work the past four days and have been working at a meal/exercise plan that I can fit into my hectic work/home schedule. Here's to a new month and taking my life back!

Currently I am BeckyBaby65 and BeckyBaby65too. I have gone through one round of the sassies and love this group! If my BeckyBaby65too works properly I will stick with it and delete the other one from this challenge and only use the account that works. If neither work for updating my weight in the challenge, I will go back to my old BeckyBaby65 account and delete the new one.

As I mentioned above I have gone through one round with the sassies and they are a great bunch. It "works" for me to be accountable to these ladies and they are very supportive. In my weight loss journey it also works for me to view sweating as a habit instead of just something I am doing to lose weight. I go to 9Round for boxing/kickboxing and love it when I give it 30 minutes and come out sweating like a pig in a bacon factory! It feels good and it's a stress reliever! Besides I can kick and punch to my heart's desire and believe me I use my imagination while I am there! Eating healthier is an ongoing process with me. I miss my salads when I don't have one for awhile. However, I fub up at times like my recent vacation last week. Gained because I didn't sweat like I should and got lazy. But that's what happens with life. YOU LIVE IT! And then you acknowledge where you should have made better choices and move on to do better hopefully. What works for me? Simply put, lots of water, clean eating, sweating, & smiling through it all! So, give me my water bottles and let's get to living better!

Love this!

I have been going strong since I "re-upped" in April (19.3 lbs from April to July). But I have stalled out the weight loss since then.

I have been running every week (142 miles since May). I've finished five 5k's. I am super proud of myself for all that.

Unfortunately, the last 10 pounds just won't go away. I've been logging everything every day, but either I keep losing focus or I just love my glass of wine too much Smile

I am really looking forward to finding and sharing inspiration, motivation and fabulous tips with My Sistas!

Oh! And this July is one year tobacco free (Woo Hoo!!)

Looking forward to being with my sassy gals!!

I have been with most of you since Dec of 2010 and I have stayed for the most part true to the weight loss journey even if it's been ups and downs. My heaviest then was 227 and I am now at 201. I believe that weight loss begins when you are ready. You can't force yourself because that sets you up for failure. You really have to want this and now in my life I have never wanted it more!! I am currently on the FMD plan, not the MFD plan Denise. LOL I love it and I feel great!!

Things that have set me back in the past is pure laziness and also tired of cooking or loss of enthusiasm with food. So easy way out is fast food. I have been fast food and diet dew free for 15 days and yes today I wanted a big fat juicy burger and fries. But today is over and I didn't cave. Yes that looks good but I want to look good too!!

My husband doesn't eat the way I do and I have one child who will at least try. It makes it difficult at times to cook 2 different ways. Some days I want to say "cook your own food" but that means a frozen pizza. GAG!

So Pam let's get an apt together and eat like we want to eat get thin and then go back to our families. LOL

So let's rock this next challenge and make a difference in our health and be proud!!

Ugh where did Onederland go? Oh I see it just around the corner!!

Looking forward to being with all of you on this journey NEW and OLD sassies!!

Muah!
Susan

I have never felt more ready to lose the weight than now. I have not been able to reach goal because I didnt believe I could. When I take care of myself and my responsibilities I feel great and can do anything. I sometimes buy into the fear, LOSS OF SELF ESTEEM, OR FINANCIAL INSECURITY, OR FEAR OF SUCCESS. I have worked with a life coach to help me have closure on my past so that I dont bring any baggage with me okay I have some but I,m traveling lighter and so much freer. I believe change is an inside job and I,m reflecting my actions accordingly. I need my sassies I like community. It takes a village and I,m ready, Laurie

Hello everyone!

What keeps me from losing weight? Definitely myself!! There's always some excuse...I'm out with friends, it's a party, I'm on vacation, I'm tired.

In June, I lost 10 lbs. and the last 2 months, I have put on and taken off 2 lbs over and over. I am also on the FMD plan (Fast Metabolism Diet) and am so excited about it. Today is my 4th day and I feel amazing. I am looking forward to losing a few more during this challenge and getting into the 170's and staying or even making it into the 160's.

I have been with most of these women since April 2012 and I could not make it without their support. This group is a life-saver.

I can't wait to get started!

ME. The weeks that I lose are not the weeks that I think I will because I worked hard/ or ate good. So I don't have anything figured out. I have been resistant to change, thinking it just wouldn't work for me. 2yrs ago I got determined, bought an elliptical, found this group at another place...I got down about 17, but have put on maybe 10 of that. :/ At first hubby was not into it, but now he tries to help.

Thankful for accountability, and ladies the scold me gently, and encourage me much!

Hi everyone, I'm new - I guess you guys have been together for a long time! I am a recent stay home mom to my 21 year old with disabilities. I teach Zumba Fitness and am a health coach for Take Shape For Life. I originally lost 75 pounds 4 years ago when I found out I had a heart condition, but then I put half of it back on and gained 20 pounds in 2012. When the scale hit 199 back in January, I remembered how hard I had worked to get below 200 and started Take Shape For Life in February. I have lost 60 pounds since then and have 13 pounds to go to my goal weight. I have done challenges here on fatsecret during this journey and this one seemed to indicate, because I am bound and determined to reach my goal of 130 and keep it off this time! I plan to finish what I started! I recently went off my blood pressure medicine (1 week ago today) and have put on 4 pounds since going off of it, but it had a diuretic in it so I'm hoping that this will pass and I will reach my goal. But hey, my blood pressure looks great still!
I currently teach 6 Zumba classes a week, but will be layering in 4 - 6 more classes a week in 2 weeks. 2 Zumba Gold classes, 2 regular Zumba classes, and 2 Aqua Zumba classes a week. Plus I try and get in strength training 2 - 3x a week. I guess I will need to work on the stretching workouts. I also usually walk the dog about 1 - 2 miles a day.

Good morning all - I'm a newbie as well as a few others that I see have posted. What keeps me from losing weight? A few things: poor meal planning (which leads to last minute food decisions - many times not the best decisions), poor time management, and finally me.. I get in my own way every time. I'm excited for this challenge to help me get back on track and looking forward to having so many accountability partners Smile
