I am going to follow the 6 steps to eat slowly. Thanks for that site. Its interesting. I did good at breakfast . Sat down and chew my food, put down myfork every bite and was not in the rush to go to work. I specifically told myself to relax and enjoy the food. I used to stand and multitask while eating breakfast. Will see how this works for me.

american culture trains us to eat as much & as fast as we can. remember the 25 minute "lunch" in high school? had to make it through the line at the caf then wolf yr food down before the bell rings. pretty messy. we train our kids young. eating is treated as a commodity, not a luxurious pleasure.

my mama used to get whacked by the nuns if she didn't finish her whole plate in the short break.

o yeah. i'm an over-the-sink eater (no dishes!). keep it up! i've been getting up earlier and taking the time during my lunch breaks to actually dine.

cheers! - d

This morning was very stressful for me. My dog went into diabetic shock and was so stressed but everything went fine. Usually when Im stressed I just eat and eat but proud to say that i made my breakfast, sat down and ate mindfully. It really calmed me down Smile And last night for supper I ate slowly counted 15 to 20 chews before I swallowed. This really works for me. It was the first time in 20 years that I was the last one to finished my supper hahaha. I cant believe how fast i ate before. My husband looked at me like "whats wrong with you?" . I think this is the challenge that I will be doing for the rest of my life. Thank you thank you thank you! Just have to keep it up.
