60 years old in 18 months, I want to be lighter and physically stronger. What do you think, is 30 lbs in 18 months realistic?

I too am turning 60, only in 9 months...I am going for a 30 lbs. loss, I believe I can do it. I joined this group to keep me motivated. I will keep a food journal and continue my weight training and cardio workouts going, increasing them as I can. Good luck to you!

Hello Nel53
Looking forward to motivating and being motivated at being the best me / you we can be. I still have to get into cardio and physical part of this program. I am currently housebound with my mother who I am caring for in my home (she is on hospice and requires 24 hour care). I need a bit of motivation right now, I will be pulling for you as well.

2 pounds a week is a healthy loss. You would be losing .5 pounds a week or less. It is definitely possible. The first thing you have to do is change your diet. That will make up for 80% of your weight loss either way. Make sure you are eating enough food but it is whole grains, baked lean meats, and fruits/ veggies. Try to stay as natural as possible. I am rooting for you both!!!
