I just lost 24 lbs on the 50 lb challenge. My "speed" seems to be an average of 2 lbs per week, so maybe this challenge will be a good way to continue toward my goal. I still have 88 lbs to go! I like this website because it structures my efforts and gives me necessary information, and the challenges really support that.

Fortunately, this isn't a challenge about how fast you can lose weight, just a way to help you set a goal. Take me as an example. I currently have a goal of being at 260lbs. I'm at 262lbs right now. Once I hit 260lbs, I'll change my weight goal to 250lbs and so on. My ultimate goal is to reach 125-135lbs by this time next year, although at this rate, it might be a little sooner than that (16lbs in 2 weeks! Yay!) but I might plateau and this challenge will keep me going.

I am increasing my calorie intake from 800-1000 calories per day to 1000-1200 per day since my activity level seems to require it. I seem to need to eat more in order to sleep at night. I still can't fast all day. But the weight is coming off! Everybody seems to be doing well in this challenge who has been reporting.

I just discovered a product I haven't seen before. It's called The Greatest Loser Protein Powder. It's produced by Designer Whey. I tried it in place of Slim Fast, mixing it up with powdered milk. It doesn't have as much flavor, but it works a lot better. I just use it the same way as Slim Fast, but it works better and I don't get constipated. If you use things like soy insulate, you might look this up. It works for me...I lost four pound this week. I don't seem to be retaining water at all, and that has been one of my problems. No worries! Smile

Smile I have recently learned about The Bellyfat Cure, a series of books by Jorge Cruise, available on Amazon.com for below cover price and also used...The author warns us about sugar and the dangers it poses to our bodies. He says sugar causes the epidemic of obesity in this country and may be the reason why a lot of people have trouble losing weight. I believe this knowledge its enabling me to continue on my diet and go further than I have ever gone before. I still count calories. I don't like Jorge's cooking or his menus. But his information about healthy foods is spot on, as they say, and anybody who had to diet ought to know about it. It's really easy to read.
