Starting on a monday means that under 500cals happens on Sat and Sun...YIKES!

I am psyched about this challenge! I did very well on my first 5:2 in January and so I am hoping to be just as successful on this one. The first one was only 4 weeks. This one will surely generate losses too! Thursdays and Saturdays for me again! Laughing

I actually heard this is healthy for you as well (eat 5 days then 2 under 500). Trying to loose weight but any suggestions as to how to live on 500 kcal for 2 days? What do you eat to keep you going? I mean I could do it but I'm imagining excruciating hunger. But yes I'm psyched to win against myself! I'm thinking Saturday and Sunday as well.

sounds to me like a big huge batch of cabbage soup ( as on the cabbage soup diet, soup)will be in order...and a lot of low sodium broth....and veggies up the whazoo....and maybe some of those miracle noodles--0 calories on those!

My first fast I did a detox diet menu from Woman's World magazine. Basically, yogurt for breakfast, salad for lunch, and salad with fish for supper. Snacks include celery, apple, cashews (I used almonds since I am allergic to cashews). And lots of green tea throughout the day. Works okay sticking close to 500 cal/day. This time around I am also using cabbage or what I call weight watchers soup. If you haven't done a fast like this before let me tell you in advance you will be looking forward to the next meal even if you are not a big salad fan like I was. Notice I said "was". Since doing the first fast I have really grown to like salad. Favorite is chicken breast salad from Subway. Very tasty and filling. Secondly, you will start to eat "lite" on your other 5 days too. It will carry over to your non-fasting days. This is also a good way to jump start your weight loss if it's slowed. (Another reason I'm excited to be fasting still).
