Over the weekend I went to Target in hopes of finding a one piece swimsuit to wear in the hot tub. After kids I will NEVER wear a bikini. Seeing as I would NEVER wear one before having kids this isn't too much of a loss. It's almost impossible to find a one piece swimsuit these days! I did find a tankini on clearance for a price that didn't leave me gasping like a fish.. in a size small. Small? Yes.. Small. It could fit! If I lose another 10 lbs.... Right now I can get it on but I look like a multi-colored stuffed sausage. So for now I'm staying in my way too big one piece with the saggy butt and giant uniboob. But.. by this time next month I'm hopefully going to be in a swimsuit that doesn't leave people wondering if I have something in my drawers! It's a good thing we don't have any lighting on our back porch yet. If we did the neighbors and cows would have been tramatized. Right now I can just scar my family. So right now that's my motivation! What's yours?

My motivation is I'd like to wear short sleeved tops! My bingo wings have gotten WAY out of hand! I already gain all my weight between my hips and my shoulders and the arms just join in. If I can't have slim arms, I can at least make them look less like ham hocks by firming them up.

You're not making your family scarred for life-you're...uh...MOTIVATING them! Right! You're SETTING AN EXAMPLE! (whether that example is good or bad is immaterial, at least you're setting one!)

Hmmmmm..... My motivation is to be able to fit into my shorts and swimsuits that I wore last summer, and hopefully even a size smaller would be great. I have a short vacation coming up in May that I would love to be more in shape for, especially because we'll be doing lots of walking, so that is a big motivator for me right now. And on this vacation my skinny sister-in-law's will be there, so I would like to not be comparing myself to them the whole time, thinking if only I would have tried harder to exercise and eat healthy I wouldn't look huge next to them.
Goals for 2018:
Do 20 consecutive push-ups
Use 10 lb. weights for a whole workout
Run 1 mile without stopping DONE!!
Run 2 miles without stopping
Cut running time down 10 seconds
Get stronger physically and mentally

I think your size-small swimsuit is a great motivation idea for you! It wouldn't work for me personally, at this point--mainly because if I tried it on it would only fit over one leg (if I'm having a good day with no water retention...) and I'd look like a small child in a one-piece was hugging my thigh everywhere I went.

My motivation is a bit different. I take 30 prescription medications daily due to my medical conditions. I want to watch the number of prescription pill bottles shrink in my meds drawer. A few of them have already been reduced a bit...I just want as many of them as possible to disappear forever.

Only downside to my motivation--I'll no longer be able to blame the things that I may say or do on drug interactions... o_0

My motivation is not quite so tangible as it's based on putting my head on the pillow every night and feeling pride that I 'got it right today'.

I have pair of thrift store jeans in a size smaller than I'm wearing now folded on the shelf in the closet but that's just in case another 10lbs lost sneaks up on me.

The 'larger' jeans have been ceremoniously tossed and given away with each incremental loss and having to replace 'that size' would certainly be an unpleasant experience if it's related to poor eating choices I make after learning so many good skills these past few months.

However, to give myself a little 'something to look forward to other than the rest of my life' ... I have challenged my oldest grandson to a go-kart smackdown when I lose 100lbs. I really thought that would put us at even weights but learned yesterday I'll still outweigh him by 10lbs (I have 9 to go, he's only 175).

Hopefully my 40+ years of driving experience will balance out the 10lb advantage he'll have over me. That and the fact that I'm going to start force feeding him cookies for the next couple of months Smile

I did a thing last month where I put a green checkmark on the calandar for every day I did well. This meant not going above a certain calorie mark, burning a certain calorie count, and not eating an oreo. It was very satisfying to see alot more checkmarks on the calendar than days without checkmarks. I think I'm doing the same thing this month.

My healthy motivation is to feel better, less joint pain and be stronger and more fit to keep up with my kids. My vanity motivation is to feel like I look good naked Smile DFW I'm with you on the marks on the calendar. I put star stickers on my calendar every day that I work out, it is nice to see them all up there and since my kids know that is what they are for if I go a few days without adding them they keep me in check. (March I only had 6 starless days, gonna do the same in April! Smile

So glad to see other people with the same motivation as me! I've lost a lot of weight over the past three years (well a lot to me...) and now I want to rock it on the beach and feel PROUD! So this is my last hurrah before swim season! My goal is to tone up, not just lose the number! My motivation is finally seeing the results I always dreamed of. I'm excited I found this group as it's 4 weeks, which i how long my training plan is, and its full of people trying to reach the same goal as me! Also.... Skirch97... you put it wonderfully... I want to feel good naked for SURE! thanks ladies, you're already makng me feel motivated! This week, i'm getting rid of the chocolate in my house Sad

Three weeks until my half marathon, four weeks until my bachelorette party in Vegas, and 75 days until my wedding!

Someone who is busier than you is working out right now.
There will come a day when you can no longer do this. Today is not that day.

My motivation is to keep toning and strengthening my body and to feel good about how I look in my summer clothes. I have to reach acceptance about how I look naked; short of a few nips and tucks, feeling I look good naked is a tall order. ;o) I am beginning to feel sexier, so maybe I'll set a goal of finding some sexy lingerie that will help me look good naked.
