I am basically avoiding bread, white rice, anything fried, red meats (as much as I can), sweets, some fruits, sweetened juice drinks, and cut down on the fats (some cheeses, olive oil in my cooking, butter). I try to stay on track with the meals, I dont miss a meal. And make sure to have a healthy snack available somewhere so I don't get headaches or overeat later. I am also trying to include either of these in one of my meals: whole wheat oatmeal, brown rice, or whole wheat pasta and even steamed potatoes. This has helped feel full and not overeat, you keep full longer and get energy for exercise. But above all its all about portions and keeping calorie conscious.
