As you go through this challenge, are any of you following a particular diet plan? i like the 300 calories 5 times a day idea, but just curious if anyone is sticking to a particular plan? i recently have been researching the Eat to Live guidelines....focuses highly on fruits and veggies and whole grains. anyone familiar and what were your thoughts? thanks!

I am basically avoiding bread, white rice, anything fried, red meats (as much as I can), sweets, some fruits, sweetened juice drinks, and cut down on the fats (some cheeses, olive oil in my cooking, butter). I try to stay on track with the meals, I dont miss a meal. And make sure to have a healthy snack available somewhere so I don't get headaches or overeat later. I am also trying to include either of these in one of my meals: whole wheat oatmeal, brown rice, or whole wheat pasta and even steamed potatoes. This has helped feel full and not overeat, you keep full longer and get energy for exercise. But above all its all about portions and keeping calorie conscious. Smile hope it helps.

I can't ALWAYS eat exactly 300 calories EXACTLY 5 times a day, but I do try to keep my meals with a certain range, and my daily goal is to have no more than 300 calories of junk food.
I want to be slim, and have my cake and grilled cheese sandwiches and EAT IT TOO!

Well if there are an extra 50 calories or 80 it is still ok. So long as it's not 150 calories over. Also you can watch the amount of fat your eating, you may have more calories but less fat. It's still good. Meals won't be an exact amount of calories each time, and that is ok. What is important is to keep that range. Your meals should be near the 300 mark over or under by very little and in total near that 1500 cal mark.
