Hi. How are you doing getting in 30% of your calories from protein. I managed to hit 30% once this week. Averaging about 20-24%. My problem is when I need (WANT) a quick snack, protein options are difficult to find, or they require cooking, heating, etc; or they are high fat options.

I've blown my 30% goal just by grabbing a piece of fruit at the end of the day, avoiding the chocolate bowl, cookies, etc, but while healthy, fruit is typically all carbs. I would hate to have to give up fruit AND the normal unhealthy sweets too!

What are you doing to reach that goal?

Hi: This is fun, isn't it? I hard boiled some eggs and got some cheese sticks thinking that might help my (same as you) quick snack problem. It's helped! I've lost my pound, but now the weekend looms when I always blow it. Must. Be. Strong!

I've been having a surprisingly hard time with it, considering the fact that I lived on a 40%/30%/30% (carbs/proteins/fats) for ages.

I'm getting back on track now, and planning seems to be the key. My schedule is all over the place, so I find myself grabbing whatever's quick a lot.

To try to balance that out, I made a batch of twelve egg white/smoked turkey/cheese English muffin sandwiches yesterday. Six went in my chest freezer and another six in the fridge; now I can just grab one and nuke it when I need to eat something. I plan to make the next batch with double portions of egg white, though, both to add more protein and make them more filling.

Next time I hit the store I plan to snag some apples. I think I'll probably steal Angussmith's idea and get some cheese sticks, too Very Happy I'm in a build-up phase now for the last race on my bike-racing calendar for the year, so I will definitely need ways to put in more calories, and those will bring along both calories and protein.

Edited to fix typo!

Great ideas. I bought a couple frozen breakfast egg sandwiches (smart ones and IHOP). I think I will add in some additional egg white to give some lasting power and a protein boost. I'm going to try to find a high protein shake mix for when I need a sweet treat. I'll let you all know if I find something tasty!

Stay strong this weekend. Weekends can be tough!
