I know exactly what you mean. I follow Atkins too (induction phase). Rather than blindly taking risks with fruits, I count them in my carb intake and try to eat less carb to make room. There are some fruits though, like berries and melon, that are much less concentrated in carb than other fruits and vegetables so fruits all together don't always have to be "a bad idea"... it depends witch ones you eat.

Yep, me too. I like to start off the day with a piece of fruit or pulpy juice, then have my protein breakfast later in the morning. Studies show that fruit eaten alone first thing in the morning will pass through the stomach in less than an hour. Helps with elimination too as an added "bonus".
