I like to peel, halve, and freeze bananas ahead of time so that they're ready to add to my shakes. It beefs them up in texture and also in calories (@50 cal per half banana). It also helps chill my shake a bit since I don't add ice. Don't waste bananas at the store. Buy the reduced price bananas and freeze them.
