moondove's Journal, 28 February 2018

B/S this morning after waking up was 97, last night after dinner and again at bedtime, it was 82. Weight still not budging. I get approximately 20 carbs, not net carbs. Am I going to have to cut my low carb green salads and veggies too? I already removed tomatoes thinking they may be stalling me. Didn't make a difference. The only other thing that I am doing that I could remove is organic liquid stevia (4 drops in cup of coffee).

I walked 45 mins instead of 30 today, first time since I began LCHF. Booted up my Wii U yesterday. I have 'Just Dance' that I used briefly yesterday, but at least I am moving. I really just want to play 'Guitar Hero' but I have no one to play against and that isn't exercise, that is just fun. LOL!

Didn't rain today and it has been a really nice day!

Hope everyone's day has treated them good!

I don't see it? Looked at you journal numbers are great, I don't know anything about LCHF so can't advise. Your bs numbers are remarkable! For every 3500 cal deficit you should lose a pound. Hmmm still thinking!

8Patty, I have had thyroid issues for 2 yrs. Sometimes my thyroid antibodies are abnormally high (thought to be caused by the agriculture area in which I live in). I was also diagnosed w/hashimoto's disease which has made my thyroid lumpy bumpy and w/nodules, but tested 2x and they are benign. And... even though my thyroid has poopered out at times, it kicks back in and is still chugging along, so no drugs needed for it per my endocrinologist.

I’m still trying to figure this out too...it can be so frustrating. Are you eating enough? Maybe try adding a few carbs or more fats and see if a change makes any difference? I’ve read our bodies can adjust to the changes we’ve made and we need to keep it guessing so weight loss doesn’t stall?? Just a thought.

momma6224, I did Atkins and had it wired for over 2 yrs, but...couldn't get out of Stage 1, or I would stall, then I did stall for 4 months. I never did figure it out, and as you can see, I had given up. I'm not giving up this time. I want to enjoy everyday, but I would really like to lose as I go so I can begin to do other activities and things in my life. This weight is holding me back. Arggg...

momma6224, I've decreased, and increased, one time w/increase I lost, another time, I stalled so I backed off of calories. I do go to bed hungry some nights, but I am doing 16/8 fasting and not supposed to snack or eat during fast. It is hard work to eat right and stay healthy. You are doing very well!

Have you tried keeping calories under 500 for two days a week and then back to more calories other days? Sometimes it helps.

Peasy3, :) I got into it when one of my daughters and her 3 children lived with my husband and I while her husband was deployed in the military. So much fun!

kattay, I haven't tried that yet. I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks!

I agree about possible lowering calories for a day or two, but only by 300 or 400 from a reasonably high normal calorie intake. For eg, my husband does this weekly, dropping from his 2000 calorie norm to 1600 or so. If you drop too low, it will destroy metabolism, not heal it. My norm is 1800, even though I am currently at ideal weight. Cannot believe how much healing I have experienced by upping my calories (very high fats, carbs under 20, protein under 50). Blessings as you find your way on this!

I also agree about dropping the stevia. It spikes insulin, so proly worth it to forego that for a while. I am THRILLED for my A1C to finally be down, for many, like me, keto done properly will bring it down, but it can take quite a few months to get there.

Ann Marnae, Thank you for sharing your thoughts and journey. I used to love my chocolate flavored creamer before low carb, after I started, just heavy cream and butter or coconut oil. Thought that I was in ketosis as weight was moving down, then added the liquid stevia. I guess I'll cross that off my list for awhile and see what happens.

Let us know how that goes for you! <3

The veggies help a lot to stay in contol. I tried two weeks without, and will not repeat that mistake any time soon. Keto is very favourable for muscle growth, and that makes the scales misleading. Just go with it, and you'll soon enough find a need to get smaller clothes.

Listening to you, you seem to have tried everything across the board, your metabolism seems to have adjusted to what you call excersize walking, dance, so let's get it out of the driver seat and start jogging...that will wake up the old juice glands and if you think that's to much like exercise than plan B carry a couple of hand held weight's a gently swing them back and forth plan C keep taking cals.away until you scare your metabolism into self preservation mode"fat storage" l hope you found this info helpful.
