weebeeme's Journal, 09 February 2008

It a bright chilly morning here today. I am taking my daughter over to the Y with me this morning and we will be doing an orientation with a personal trainer...me for gaining in the weight lifting building lean muscle to help tone and trim and for my daughter... staminia and sports training as she is a runner and a soccer player.

I've stayed reasonably well...with a handful of tortilla chips here and there...NO ONE IS PERFECT...but at least I avoid the sugar and cookies!! WHoohoo!!

I'm surprised that Fatsecret allows recipes from other diets to show up on the Fat Flush portion of the board. But then it does ask us all to rate it according to our own diet. So, when I see a bad choice for Fat Flush, I will continue to stick up for my way of life...which is NOT a DIET and rate them poorly and explain why they are not good for Fat Flushers. I'd hate for any newbies coming onto this board expecting to do the Fat Flush Diet and think they can eat pina coladas or peanutbutter cookies for that matter.

I've also been thinking on the response to my post. Many have privately emailed me to thank me for standing up for Fat Flush and saying what they just couldn't say. Many wonder why some are here saying they are doing Fat Flush yet aren't.
And then...there were a few who private messaged me to tell me I was rude for standing up for Fat Flush and telling it like it was because they just can't give up the sugar or they can't stay true to the diet and have tweaked it to their own liking. Well, then they are not really doing Fat Flush are they? and if they are upset and taking my post to heart, then deep within they do know this and it bothers them. Good maybe it will jump start them into Fat Flush or help them find a plan that suits them better. One person even attacked my profession and my skills, hmmm if I let a student continually use methods that hindered learning, THEN I wouldn't be a good teacher. Yet, when I point out that what they are doing is not going to help them learn the skills they need, yes, they get upset with me for the interim and then when they learn I get approbations!
Similar to my own kids...when I took away most of the junk and frozen foods I was feeding us, they were upset at first...now they are loving eating the healthier choices and meals we make together.
So, yes, I will continue to stick up for Fat Flush and how I've learned to live a healthier life and yes I will continue to say "that isn't fat flush approved fare you are imbibing in!"

AMEN!
140.0 lb Lost so far: 44.0 lb.    Still to go: 5.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I will admit that I support Lisa on this issue. I too understand that Fat flush is a way of life and I am much healthier and happier for it. Before I started the FF eating style I was in constant pain all over my body. I have fibermyalgia, Migraines, IBS, GERD, Arthritis, neurofibrotitis... I felt like killing myself the pain would get so bad. I lost friends cause I would have to constantly cancel plans last minute. Some people just didn't understand how depressing chronic illness can be. THEN I found this Fat Flush and by following the plan, and I mean following the plan, I have gotten off all of my RX's and am in control of my inflammation and pain. If I have heartburn I use ACV and it is gone almost instantly. There is so much this plan can do for your body. That is why we are so adimate about following the plan because we know first hand how much it can help you. I now feel alive and can be active in everyday life... so much of which everyone else takes for granted. I was able to shovel the sidewalk, take out the garbage, bring in the milk...etc. This plan works on so many different cellular levels and is not just about losing weight. Lisa is one of our true FAT Flushers and has won 1st place on a cruise for it. She knows what she is talking about and can help everyone be on the Fat Flush plan. Fat flush is not a diet.... It is a lifestyle. So please understand that we support each and everyone of you and your choices. And trust me I am NOT perfect either, I have dark chocolate twice a month and I even took a bite of a donut the other day. The only thing is now I can take one bite and not like the taste anymore. OLD habits are hard to get rid of, but in my case I have such love for the Fat Flush way of life because it has given me back my life.

I agree with weebeme... Fat Flush a lifestyle change and those of us who chose to be on this plan need to continue to have the positive support of items that are actually on the plan. I have been able to watch on this site the great success that many have had especially weebeme, dooley and jo247. They have all committed to this lifestyle and seen incredible results. That is why I am back with Fat Flush and need the support from this site with my FF Buddies! I commend you weebeme for sticking up for the principles on the FF plan… Anne Louise would be proud! Well I guess you can find out first hand considering you WON the cruise… still can’t believe it! Amazing! Thanks for your inspiration and congratulations on your hard work.

Oh I forgot to mention how great it is that you have incorporated your children as well. I have a 5 year old son and we are already talking about the importance of making healthy eating decisions and being active! Thanks again!

Thank you Skurtz! That is great that you are engaging your osn in healthy choices! I'm enjoying teaching my children about this life style too. At first they were sure they wouldn't like what I cooked but to their suprise the food was good! LOL! Now they request the mushroom chili at least once a week. I'm going to make the texas pot roast for them tomorrow and there should be plenty of left overs!

yummy. I have stopped buying potatoes, rice and white bread and my sons haven't complained. They even like the FF meatloaf. I love that I can put out some great veggies to snack on and they eat them. I feel like they are getting a better grip on what makes them feel good. I even have my 20 yr olds best friend Justin on this eating plan and he has gone from 340lbs down to 270. He want's to get to 220. He is always reading my book and asking lots of questions about how to eat. It is just so wonderful to see that others around me are benefiting too. ' I want to come over for some pot roast.... yummy

Lisa, I think it's WONDERFUL of you to stick up for Fat Flush principles on the recipe thang. One of my concerns with this Fatsecret site is that it seems to be too free-wheeling and far too many folks think it's ok to change the guidelines of the diet they allege to follow- thus misleading other newbies and misrepresenting the Fat Flush Plan. The thing everyone seems to lose site of is this: P1 is the detox phase. No you should NOT change the eating protocols to suit your lifestyle because it's your LIFESTYLE THAT MADE YOU FAT. While it's true ALG permits certain tweaks (1 cup of coffee per day, for example or extra lean protein for guys), she has never EVER said it's ok to eat dishes sweetened with anything other than Stevia in P1 or P2. Let's get real here folks, retraining your tastes away from heavily sweetened or salted food is half the battle toward a healthier YOU and a key goal of P1. Yep, Detox is hard. Get over it. GACK! Ok, I seem to be on this soapbox and all I MEANT to do was tell Lisa - WAY TO GO, BABE! Get out your wet noodle (or you can borrow mine!) anytime you see a recipe that is not FF A-ok! PS. HAVE A LOVELY CRUISE! You are going to enjoy Ann Louise - she's approachable, full of energy and amazing information and she CARES!
