I was reviewing my diabetes handbook from my diabetes nutrition class last night. In the weight tables, I am ALMOST not obese any more. Seven more pounds and I will be merely OVERWEIGHT as opposed to OBESE. I wish I could get out of the obese category before my big doctor's appointment next week, but that's not going to happen. I hope to lose 2 more pounds before next Monday. That will be the "Day of Reckoning." When I last weighed at the doctor's office 3 months ago, I weighed 203. I had lost 17 pounds but my doctor was not impressed, chalking it all up to my blood sugar in my newly diagnosed diabetes. Now I weigh 178. 42 pounds since December! SURELY she'll be impressed with this. SURELY she'll have something positive to say this go-round. I am not losing weight for my doctor, but it sure would be nice to have her eat her words and actually acknowledge how much I've taken off. I just got my blood drawn at her office this morning for my A1C and cholesterol tests. I am hoping my cholesterol drops significantly as well - with the diet, and I've also been on Lipitor for 3 months. My triglycerides were in the 400's - I am hoping to see a big improvement in that. All of this crap is very new to me. I am going to be 40 this year and all of sudden I'm preoccupied with blood tests, worried about my cholesterol, and going to the doctor every 3 months. I remember not too long ago when I went to the doctor once a year. Oh well, I guess it's just part of getting older. Hopefully losing a lot more weight and realizing my goals will also be a part of getting older.

You are doing so Good. I understand what you mean about wanting the Dr. to recognize how much work you are doing to get healthy and how much weight you have lost. I was SUPER happy when I saw my Dr. and she said she was really proud of me. Strange how much we look for that affirmation from our Docs. I am only 25 and I am doing the Dr. thing every 3 months, cholesterol stuff, etc already. It kinda sucks BUT it will make us better for it. Just remember how amazing you are doing... and PS. I NEVER would have guessed you are almost 40! You look GREAT
