That is great progress! How do you make your hemp protein powder? I'm trying to find recipes for shakes. I just got some and I haven't used it yet.

Thanks guys! Sara, I'm afraid I don't have any recipes. I just dump stuff in there and sometimes I get lucky. :) Is it the chocolate flavor you have? I always buy chocolate flavor. I mix it with a banana (which you probably don't want), some water or soymilk, and maybe some nut butter. Sometimes I throw flaxseeds in there for extra fiber (although my hemp powder has tons of fiber already) or 1 or 2 c spinach, because it blends up well without really affecting the taste and helps me get my low carb vegs in for the day.

oops, I forgot you don't eat soy either. Unfortunately the smoothies never taste as good without it. That's part of the struggle I'm having giving it up! I've tried coconut milk, but I don't like it in my smoothies. Maybe you would, though.

Have you tried hemp milk? I am not sure if I can find it but I have heard of it. Coconut milk has too much sugar. I got the plain hemp powder because the flavored ones have lots of sugar in them. Thanks anyway, though. I'll have to get really creative on this one. I'll try the spinach, sounds interesting.

I have tried hemp milk. Unfortunately the sugar free brand is gross and the other kind, though delicious, is too sugary. Not to mention expensive! Actually I am not sure if I've tried the gross kind in my smoothie specifically so maybe I should. Good for you on getting the plain hemp powder. Now that my hemp powder container is empty, I am thinking about just grinding up hempseeds and cacao nibs (ie sugar free chocolate) so that I just have the sugars from the banana. I didn't even know coconut milk had sugar.
