Manda_k's Journal, 10 April 2012

I expected this. The last week and a half has been horrible on my nerves. I am very frustrated and feeling down of course. Just some very stressful things going on at home and work. I knew this was an issue previously. For some reason, I just can't tolerate stressful events. I can't say my eating has been horrendous, but I think the stress hormones in themselves play an important role. Along with all the stress, it seems I have been working extrra hours, can't get away from my kids to work out, thus, it is a terrible spiraling cycle. I am ready to go to my doctor also, as I have been stuck in a platuea forever it seems like. :( I am just grumpy I guess.

Stress can inhibit weight loss in some. Your cortisol levels get raised and you want to eat more to keep you calm. You need to find ways of dealing with the stress other than food. Exercise can help with the stress and it is a cycle. If you eat healthy and exercise, you will be better able to deal with stress and start feeling better about yourself. Take small steps in the right direction. Consistency is key in weight loss. Find a good caloric intake that will help continue to lose. Those high days can cause you to maintain. You don't need to get away from your kids to workout. Get some dvds out of the library or look some up on amazon. You can do them at home. You can take the kids out walking, biking, hiking, to the playground, any kind of activity will help. I used to dance around the house crazy when mine were little. Good luck!

I love love love to go hit softballs when I'm stressed out, especially when it's an angry stressed out. Smacking the crap out of something is so releasing and at a batting cage, it's encouraged. Hope things are getting better. Sorry you had a grumpy day :(
