Hedder52's Journal, 14 January 2008

OK, so since I am starting over this week I am defiantly going to get it right this time around! I got on the scale again this morning so that I knew for sure what my official starting weight was and boy what a shocker! I am killing myself, I am not sure what happened or what I did wrong these past 12 days, but what ever it is I am not doing it anymore! The scale said that I gained weight now and I am so angry and so focused right now...

Day 1 Fat Smash Diet (this is my list for the whole day, so far have only had breakfast).
Breakfast 7:30 am ~ 1 banana and 1 Fat Free Smoothie
Snack 10:30 am ~ Grapefruit
Lunch 1:30 pm ~ 1 cup Lentil bean soup
Snack 4:30 pm ~ 1 Apple
Dinner 7:30 pm ~ Salad

I will be going to the gym at lunch today and concentrating on cardio...I think that is what helped me most the first time! I will do the elliptical machine and shoot for 45 minutes! I also have a volleyball game tonight! I am very determined again, after this weekend of failure what else can I do!!!

Lets do this together everyone! Stay positive and stay focused!!!

Don't get too discouraged - if you have been lifting weights in the past week - you may have built muscle (I know, the scale says something different). I've been there and was ready to tear out my hair. You are off to a really great start, but writing down everything you are eating. Keep your chin up girl - and you will see the results that you want.

With all that exercise, you are sure to get to your goal, you just have to stick with it. You're already halfway there!

That's great that your anger is fueling you to stay on track! We're all gonna nail it this week.

I would stick to cardio for a while, too. Plus, he doesn't suggest doing ANY strength training until Phase III. So, stick to your cardio and you should see it come off. Just remember to watch your heart rate. Go by his calculations and really stick to it. :) You'll do GREAT!!

I bet you are adding muscle. How are your clothes fitting? You may have to rethink your eating plan to one easier to stick with. I found it easier to handle when I gave myself permission to eat all foods, but in moderation and modifying foods to meet the caloric needs of my body. Just remember to take it easy on yourself because I think you are doing great.

It's hard when you aren't seeing drastic results. That's why I've been using the food journal here along with the exercise journal. I can see how many calories I've burned in relation to how many I've consumed, and then I know what I need to do to kick it up. Once you do something 13 times, it becomes a habit, so you'll need to have 13 weeks under your belt to get into the habit of changing your life to become healthful. When I get discouraged, that's what I try to remind myself of: I'm changing my life, and that doesn't come without a little bit of depression, lots of hard work, and lots of frustration. You can do it, sweetie. I know you can!
