Hi FS!

An incredibly busy week for me. Counting today, I have worked 20 straight days. I will take tomorrow off since it is Mother's day, but I will likely spend at least part of the day on housework, laundry, and other things needed to make the rest of my week manageable. And I will go to the gym. Going to the gym has been tough this week - there is just too much going on and I need to sleep sometime.

I will not go to the gym today. Instead, I will be working as a volunteer for our local food bank managing all the food that will come in from the Postal Service "Stamp out Hunger" campaign. Six hours of offloading and sorting food should burn plenty of calories.

This past Monday, a storm swept through where I live dumping tremendous amounts of rain and hail. My daughter's basement bedroom window well filled with water and started to leak inside the house. I left work to go bail and vac the water out in the middle of the downpour. Once we got our situation handled, my son and I started helping neighbors and discovered that our street was completely impassable because water/hail had traveled down a sidestreet (my neighborhood is hilly) and caused a glacier-like "flow" of hail over two feet deep to collect in our street. The "flow" was about 200' long and every four wheel drive that attempted to go through got stuck and had to be dug out. We dug out three vehicles and then the neighbors got together and set out our trash cans to block off access and stop idiots from trying to go through. It took a snow plow, front end loader, and dump trucks nearly three hours to get the street passable again. A storm for the record books. Let's hope that doesn't happen again!!

Work has been unreal. I got pulled into a project by our upper management and the lead of my department is just an a$$ about it all. I was told that the project is top priority for our company with daily reports on progress going to our corporate headquarters and board of directors. They told me to find a back-up for my regular job duties and so I went and talked to my department lead about it and he told me that it is my fault that there is no one to step in and help out with my typical job duties. I can't stand working for him. My immediate supervisor is supportive and did his best to talk me out of my funk, but I will definitely looking for opportunities to get out from under this departmental lead.

All my work over the past two weeks has set me (and my company) up to be successful in the coming days and I will be able to slide back into my relatively normal routine. Bowling is over for the season and I admit I am excited to have the opportunity to add another actual workout day to my routine. I hope to be at goal weight by the end of the summer. If I achieve it before that, I will be so excited to enjoy a summer of looking good and feeling good.

I better get my nose back to the grindstone so that I can go volunteer. Have a great day and a great week FS. And Happy Mother's Day to all those incredble moms out there!!

Wow! It does sound like things have been pretty hecktic. Don't you wish that some housecleaning gnome or fairy or something took care of the house while you have to work long hours? I always did. I hope things ease up for you and that you take time for yourself on Mother's Day!
