Rough week for me and instead of taking care of me by watching what I ate, I indulged. Of course, the "going away" parties for employees didn't help because margaritas are not good for my waistline. And the baked goods I consumed, tasty though the were, were no help either. I binged on cookies after learning that my best friend is being let go from work after being there for over 7 years. They are eliminating her role in the company and she will no longer be employed as of 3/31.

I am so disappointed in my company. I cannot believe that they wouldn't recognize a dedicated, efficient employee and retain them in a different role. In the past two months, we have lost numerous adminstative personnel. My friend and her co-worker would be ideal to fill in those positions. But instead, we hire people with virtually no experience and pray that we can train them in their role, the industry-specific lingo, etc. It is such a disappointment. I must gather myself, though, and quit punishing me for their mistakes.

I have been on this "diet" for nearly a year, now, and I have successfully lost weight. I have realized that what I do now with food tracking and accountability is what I will need to do from now on if I went to stay at this weight or even lower. This past week's indiscretions with food and drink are in the past and will stay there. I will move forward with the resolve to make next week better and the week after, too. I will close out my year on this plan strongly and move into the next year with a renewed spirit. I need to take care of myself and that starts with how I feel physically. I like how I feel now and it helps me psychologically and emotionally. I just need to keep going. Onward and downward.
