Tried a spin class last night. Haven't been on the bike in a while but it seemed to go pretty well.
The instructor seemed to be the type where they know just enough to make them dangerous, but think they know a lot. She asked if I had ever done a spin class. Since I've only ever done one before and that was years ago, I said no. I wasn't expecting her to adjust the seat height for me. As soon as I got on I knew it was too low yet she insisted it needed to be even lower. She said I would hurt my knees if I set it too high. I guess I should have explained that I was a cyclist but hadn't done spinning classes. Once she moved on I reset the seat height properly and was fine.
They have some nice spinning bikes there. Was a little difficult to get used to the fixed gear (no coasting). It makes transitions from standing to sitting and back a little tricky. By the end of the class I was getting the hang of it. Will have to take my mtb shoes for the next class as cycling with running shoes and toe clips really sucks.
