posterchild66's Journal, 23 January 2012

Hello All, 246.6, up .6 from yesterday.

A good weight in today, i say that because it just is! I was expecting more of a rebound after my indulgence Saturday and the beers. Today is back to work, so I have my routine to look forward too, and college classes tonight. Yech. Every week I dread them, and then I go and I like it. This process repeats every week, lol.

Today I go to the Doctor in the AM to get my foot checked out. I think now I can start removing my boot when I am going to bed or sitting around (And Bathing!). I am excited. I will still have to use it when moving around, which is OK.

Hopefully I can begin putting weight on it and trying to walk on it. I have been a little now, like when I go down stairs. Probably like 25% of the normal load.

I watched "Fat Head" last night. Not quite what I expected, but still lots of good information none the less. I did fall asleep a little more than halfway through, or shall I say I was in and out of consciousness.

Something happened to my Omron scale and I had to set the date on it. I hope it didn't lose all my data, but if it did, oh well. Not sure what happened, it was moved up against the wall. Probably the damn kids! Grrr!

Today I am grateful for my wife and kids, my job, my kitty, and my foot healing.

/Cheers, JP

I never worked out how to save the data on my Omron scale. I just keep track on it online, at Evernote.com. I like having it available at home, work, phone, tablet. Geeky much? Hell yeah. :) I'm all excited for you getting that boot off! :) I hope you enjoyed Indulgence Day! Is this gonna be a regular part of things now?

Update - 2 more weeks of crutches, and 6 more weeks in the boot. But, I do get to take it off and bathe it, and sleep without it after 2 more days. When they took the stitches out today it felt like they literally ripped them out, not fun. Wife even asked if I was crying! lol. It hurted! I am reading all about my recovery at achillesblog_dot_com. So, I am hopeful I will be up and walking soon. Not sure about exercise type walking, but hopefully soon! Cant wait to be in two shoes again.

usually it doesn't hurt when they take out the stitches...but i think they do that as every other medical thing... so well i think that it can be pretty tough...

Thanks for the support you guys. I bet lots of people look at my journal and go "This guy is sick, and not doing Atkin's, I'm outta here!!!1". I appreciate your support. I hope to be more normal again soon! lol

Glad to hear you're getting better. Sorry that you gotta wear it another 6 weeks, but it's better to be safe than sorry. There's nothing gained by rushing it - especially when it comes to your feet. It's really hard to lose on any kind of diet when you can't do any of the aerobic stuff. Hang in there; you'll look back on all of this and say, "Man, that really sucked!"
