TheKarenS's Journal, 12 January 2017

Needless to say, I was disappointed that my weight was higher and not lower. It seemed odd, tho, because I've been doing fairly well on reduced calories and increased exercise (and low carb to an extent), AND I feel smaller. So I measured.

Last Saturday I measured but didn't take pictures, and then I pooped (sorry). So Sunday morning I did an official weigh-in, took "before" pictures, and I measured myself. I was glad to see that all measurements were the same because that means I was consistent in how I measured.

So I measured today, and I'm a half in smaller at my waist and hips. Yay! So perhaps the weight is muscle? I don't know, but smaller and healthier are more important than lighter.

Sometimes it's just water weight. That may be extra weight that's seems to be hanging on

Stay the course - it takes time for the body to adjust.

It could either be water weight or you may have actually added some muscle to your body with your exercise. Just ignore it and keep going. You will be fine.
