Nice weigh it today, 248 even. Still getting used to weighing daily and seeing the fluctuations, and what causes them.

We had a lot of left over shawarma's from the night before. So yesterday I dutifully ate them. So I thought they were very low calorie (Pita, chicken, vegies), and since I am logging lazily lately with no good excuse (I have a droid phone I can log anywhere), plus I am homebound. This morning when I logged it they were twice the calories I expected. Way over RDI at 1800. Technically Friday is my spike day, did I intend to do it? Not at all. I have been steering away from spike day since I am laid up in the house. Afraid of my very low activity with a spike. Anyway, lesson learned. Wife has a debt to repay today, so I will send her out for health foods.

Last night wifey had a "Girls night out". I encouraged her as we have all been a bit stressed over various issues, mainly me being laid up and around the house much more than usual. My wife is pretty new to the social drinking game, having basically started to imbibe since we moved overseas a few years ago. So, she is not very schooled at "holding her liquor". So I was worried about her behaving herself. She was with a bunch of nice ladies so it all worked out. Their plans changed and they had to run around. She came in late, and had to get up early to drive son around, so she is getting her own punishment today. lol. It kept me up late last night worrying, but all is good now.

Not much planned today, Son is busy with Friends. Daughter has plans later with friends to go out (lets not discuss). Will probably cook up a bunch of chicken to have around for the week, and make my vegetable stir fry. I really need to put the recipe on here and make calculations of calories. Its basically stir fried cabbage, carrots, celery, onions, green peppers (capsicum), and whatever else looks yummy to add. I stir fry this in a few tablespoons of good oil (canola or olive oil), with some thai 7 spice and soy sauce in my wok. I keep tubs of this around to mix with chicken, add to wraps, etc. It came about because we used to eat so much of my wifes Weight Watchers cabbage soup, and one day I stir fried the stuff in it. Anyway, I am not a big veggie eater, but this tastes like authentic chinese food (or thai), and we love it. Even my kids acknowledge it does not suck, lol.

I need to stay away from the pretzel snacks today. As I said in a previous entry, our family in Pennsylvania sent us several tubs of pretzels. The last tub being eaten has sparked my attention, the peanut butter filled pretzels. They are yummy! And my kids like to drop their leftovers around me when I am sitting around. I need to stay away today. lol

Well, today I am thankful for my healing foot. I can tell from instinct or whatever that I have tendencies to put weight on it. I am grateful for my kids, and my wife for helping me out during these trying times. I am grateful for being able to share my feelings with friends and online with fatsecret. I am grateful for my Kitty Pearl, who is hanging out with me when it gets quiet, but its clear I am her human of last resort. She will come around, lol. Probably still mad over the Christmas tree issues we had together. And I am grateful for my PS3, which is keeping me company these past few weeks, although I am running out of good games to play.

Have a good day!

/Cheers, JP
