It happens. Two weeks in a hit a minor wall. I will bust through lol. Ketogenic is easiest, especially for women. Vegetables, proteins, and carbs below 50. Skip the olive oil, butter, and salad dressings. Use salsa or lemon juice or vinegar for your salad. A square of 100 percent cacao gives you the chocolate fix, olives avocadoes, nuts make great snacks. Of course I think bacon is a great snack but it will proly kill me eventually lol

Dear, you have to get rid of the fast food, processed food and the junk. It won't budge if you don't. I looked at your food diary and that's the culprit. I know you are taking care of your father, but don't forget to take care of you. I am not pushing any particular WOE on you, but need to get rid of the foods that I've mentioned. Fresh, whole foods would be a better choice.

Thank you Arabella66 for the advice. I most certainly won't disagree with you. I'm not one to make excuses so I won't. Just know it wasn't a absent minded choice. Actually it's not easy for me to even get fast food, I have to travel to the next town over which is about 15 miles away. The McDonald's is my husbands way of getting some sort of food in me while I was elbow deep in calls back and forth to our home health nurse dealing with laxatives, suppositories, and enemas. I am happy to say I got good results and I'm hopeful that my dad is turning a corner. Today he has already been more responsive than yesterday and Saturday.

Also, Arabella66, I would like to add, thank you. I do appreciate your feed back and the accountability. I could have just as easily not logged what I ate yesterday but I do want to lose weight and be healthier. If your wondering about the lack of exercise logged its bc I use a separate app(google fit) that counts my steps. I have turned on the link option in FS but the only info shared between the two apps is my weight entries. But I like knowing my steps for the day.

Well....yes, it is tough in your position, but he can get whole foods for you in place of McDonalds. If he has to do McDonalds tell him to pick better options like a Grilled Chicken Sandwich without mayo and don't eat the bun or a Grilled Chicken Salad and don't add the dressing or use only 1/4 of the dressing. You can still make it happen even at McDonalds. You just won't see the numbers you want until you address the WOE. :( Sounds like the Home Health Nurse needs to make an actually visit. Hugs and I know how hard being a caregiver can be. Prayers to you and your father. Eating properly will give you more energy to deal with what you have to deal with.

Yes, the accountability is a bit of tough love, but it's necessary I think. Not logging the food would be defeating the purpose of what you are trying to do. It also helps trend what is working and what isn't in regards to food choices. I didn't really questioned the exercise because you being a caregiver I know you aren't sitting around all day. It's hard work. If you can make the changes with the WOE I think it will happen for you......the drops. I don't use FS myself in regards to logging activity/exercise and food. I use another app. and it works for me. Kudos for you getting your steps in. Anything over 10,000 is ideal. I don't think activity is the problem for you. Plus, you have a thyroid issue, so you really must get the food on point. You can do this!
