BuffyBear's Journal, 29 December 2011

I have my computer back at work (Office was painted) and it feels so great - I missed chatting with everybody!

A few notes on New Years Resolutions:

Just so you don't think I'm trying to mislead you - my references to unsweetened coffee refer to artificial sweeteners only. I still use my own creamer (1/2 tbsp. Cream and 2 tbsp. Unsweetened Almond Milk). I started this one early so I wouldn't have two Resolutions to cope with on January 1st.

My big Resolution is exercise. Exact goals still in the works but I will be doing SOMETHING on January First!

166.0 lb Lost so far: 20.0 lb.    Still to go: 34.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Diet Calendar Entry for 29 December 2011:
2153 kcal Fat: 121.53g | Prot: 110.98g | Carb: 160.06g.   Breakfast: babybel, walnuts, quaker weight loss formula, almond milk, brewed coffee, half and half, cream, almond milk, brewed coffee, half and half, cream. Lunch: ground beef, kidney beans, hot pepper, canned tomatoes, onion. Dinner: olive garden salad, pasta, grilled vegetables, olive garden chicken. Snacks/Other: half and half, coffee. more...

I'm right there beside you Buffy. January 1st this old body will be made to move for at least 20 minutes (depending on what I decide to do.)

Buffy, you'll do fine. You've already got one resolution well on its way, so adding just a little ol' one like exercise should be a breeze, right? LOL! But, at least you have the possibility of taking lunch-time walks, even short ones if you're pressed for time. Every little bit helps!

Karen - 20 min/day sounds like a good start. Like I said, my program is sill being formulated. I'm thinking 10 a day, plus 30 min. 3 x week - absolute minimum. Also - what do you think about Penance Exercises for when we mess up our schedule?

Bren - isn't it nice to have choices? Of course, when you get tired of the electronic stuff, you can always go outside and chase cows.

Sandy - What you said is correct - every little bit helps. I don't have to start out doing an Olympic sized work out. But if I have 10 minutes, then I nee to learn to make that 10 minutes count.

Yvonne - Great - we can encourage each other!

Buffy my suggestion for starting exercise is do something you really enjoy. Do one thing 3 days week, alternate with something else the other 2 days, then on Saturday do one exercise, and give yourself Sunday OFF :)

Make a resolution you know you will keep. Exercising 3 days a week for at least 20 minutes is what I have read helps more than anything but as you get fitter you can increase that. My resolution is to just keep moving.

Notfast - Since you are so committed I'd better listen to you. Besides, doing something I enjoy beats out the idea of floor exercises! Thanks.

Mom2Boxers - You are so right - got to plan something I'm going to keep since, well, you know my record. Your resolution is to keep moving - mine is to start moving.
