madaboutmoose's Journal, 15 January 2010

It is finally Friday. Whew. What a week this has been!! Busier than a one-armed paper hanger at work.

Today I am grateful for ...

1. 2 days of jeans at work
2. realizing that having no "forbidden" foods has been a part of my success at losing and keeping weight off this time
3. being able to get up and down our road without putting chains on the car
4. a three day weekend!!! WAHOO!!!
5. being able to go with Bob today to radiation and today marking 2 weeks of his radiation DONE!!

Not much time to chat this morning as I have a lot to get done in a short amount of time. Suffice it to say that I am holding my own, have a plan in mind to deal with the financial stressors (just need a little time to get organized to take care of it), and Bob too is holding his own. I hope to get some time to really catch up this weekend. Enjoy your day, let's continue to focus on accepting ourselves and realizing that doesn't mean we become complacent about our journey, and be KIND to yourself ... I continue to remind myself of that ... so easy to slip back into being overly critical. Toodles!!

Sarah ... I saw on facebook you don't get Monday off ... NOT FAIR AT ALL!!!! I guess that is ONE advantage to being a state government employee ... I'll take the good and the bad and work on being CONTENT. Content sure is a lot of work!! LOL!!

The thing is, the work I do is STATE GOVERNMENT! I take police reports - no police stations (the admin part atleast) are open Monday, so why are we?!? Its OK though, because I have an INTERVIEW Monday morning! Woo Hooooooo

You have a great weekend too. I have just received some news that will make my next few days a little unsettled.

Prayers as always coming Bob's way, and yours. Two weeks behind both of you, that is good. Your chart as always looks amazing. :-)

Glad Bob is doing so well. I wish you both the very best during this rough time. I am sure you will get the financial stuff straightened out. It all just takes time. :)

Have a wonderful, peaceful, happy weekend with your husband. You deserve it! :)

Can you see me grinning, reading all your comments? Glen, I might indeed be a "tough cookie" in many ways ... I think it's genetic ... LOL!! When my mom had breast cancer, she missed only one day of work. The day they did her lumpectomy ... then drove herself to radiation therapy 5 days a week for 6 weeks and worked full time!! Maybe we are both just too stubborn to know better!! Trust me. I have my meltdown moments. I like what you said Glen about decorating your soul. That is lovely, and thank you for the kind words. It means a lot to me.

I assume the weather has been better for you too lately, as you don't need chains on the car anymore. one less thing to worry about! I read your journal about financial issues, I was unfortunately not helpful on that... you are definitively an amazing woman, struggling with challenges in your personal and professional life. I wish you a relaxing weekend with your husband, you deserve it!

Congratulations on the two-week mile marker in Bob's treatments. Good luck in revamping the finances. We too are in a crunch as we look forward to a retirement at 80 per cent of our income. Our motto is pay off - pay off - pay off! We can see the grass at our house now that so much snow has melted.
