squigglywiggly's Journal, 31 October 2011

I am crying so much today. Feeling so fat and frumpy. Haven't cheated for almost a year and a half low carbing and I am still fat.

It didn't help that I was at a birthday party and helped serve the party food the whole afternoon, whilst having an insanely hungry day for whatever reason. And I was one of the fattest ones there :( I am sick of being the fat one! Especially when most others eat what they want.

I was sure I would wake up lighter today after being so hungry yesterday, but no I was almost a pound up! Argh!

196.4 lb Lost so far: 25.1 lb.    Still to go: 53.1 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Diet Calendar Entry for 31 October 2011:
487 kcal Fat: 30.87g | Prot: 48.52g | Carb: 0.84g.   Breakfast: cream, chicken drumstick. more...
gaining 3.1 lb a week

Don't give up! look at how much weight you have already lost and stick to it!

I could say don't cry but I think emotions need to come out, you might get "constipated" if you don't do it. So, if you feel sad, do just that. But keep your goal in mind and that you were able to come so far, you can go further! We all have to suffer form the scale every now and then. It seems to be our worst enemy and still we ask it again and again, can't stay away from it.

I looked over your food diary and maybe it would help if you record exactly what you eat.

Squiggs - probably not what you want to hear...but between the physical reactions to the stress in your life, and the sleep interruptions...I am surprised you've lost anything. But the truth is you've lost over 25lbs since you started. Ok, not happy about that... than only one way to improve your overall results. Pack up hubby and family and move over here to the states and out of the continual 'quake zone' you are currently living in! OK - NOT THE ONLY WAY LOL!!! But we'll take you if you'll come!!! :) Some days are just worth a good cry...then a re-motivational pep talk, maybe a glass a red wine w/ dinner...and a good night's sleep. Tomorrow will be better! Much Love.

Breathe. Let's remember ... if Dr. Kruse is right then it is likely you leptin resistance which is contributing to it being so difficult to lose the weight. Hang in there. You are a beautiful, capable woman ... with or without the extra 50 lbs that you are working on shedding. Hold you head up high squiggly!!! You have lost 25 lbs. You WILL lose the rest of the weight. Note to self too ... if you are feeling hungry ... you may need to eat!!! Sorry you had such a tough time. I hope today is better!!!

Just have a good Waah, and then chill, love. Considering everything you've been through over the last year, I'm impressed at your achievements. And I totally get that feeling of frustration. But you're still here, and still trying, so basically you're winning every day!

Hey Squigs....you can do it!!! Dr Kruse says if you are hungry to eat more protein, maybe add some whey with breakfast. And no one meal of the 3 should be over 500 cals, try these tweeks....

Squiggs, I sending you a Big Hug... :) I know how you feel. I have been trying real hard too and the weight is coming off sooooo sloooowwww... You should be proud of yourself. 25 lbs is alot of weight to loose and you are becoming healthier. I'm beginning to believe the info about leptin resistance and going to do some reading about it. I would be scared to death to deal with all of the big quakes you have been going through for so long. I think I would literally quit work, leave all behind and start over somewhere safe if I could. If you do come to the States don't come to California, we have been having lots of earthquakes; mostly mild, some in the San Francisco Bay Area have been moderate as of lately. Anyway I hope you feel better real soon! :)

Awww. I really hate when I have UFO (Ugly, fat & old) days. I haven't lost anything in the last seven months (since May) and there are bad days. But they pass and I tell myself I'm in this for life. You are doing great in the face of great stress. /me offers Hugs & Cheers!

Thanks jsfantome, you know I had forgotten I had lost all those pounds! I was concentrating on the small increase, not the big decrease over the past year and a bit! It has really helped me to put it in perspective. I think I have to get used to losing slowly, but hey it is better than being the weight I was! Hugs!

Definitely breathing Moose! It is odd, yesterday wasn't nearly so bad hunger wise, I am thinking it was all from being around food I can't eat all afternoon/evening - it must have messed with my head.

Thanks for your words and empathy ferlengheti. Yup I am still here and trying - not giving up!

Maylane normally I am okay hunger wise, it was just that one day I was insanely hungry, and I had eaten at least 50 grams of protein just like normal. I think I was hoping the hunger was going to be a woosh, and then when it was a gain it really threw me emotionally....

Thanks Bren! Love and hugs back! Yup that is a lot of weight - I don't like carrying anything around so that would be heavy for me! LOL. All the supportive posts here did help me to breathe and smile. After a good cry that is! LOL

Thanks Moondove! I didn't realise San Fran had been having bigger ones lately - stink! Ours are slowly but surely dropping, well unless we have another faultline go, which we always expect now sadly LOL. We will have to be really sloooooooooooooow losing buddies! Speedy would be nice but hey maybe when I was 20 it would have been easy, not so easy at 41 lol

Good on you for hanging in there Rowanfair! You are inspiring! I giggled at your acronym - UFO - must remember that! And yes it was one of those days.... I am thinking possibly hormally caused as well. Darn bodies huh? You and I are definitely in it for life! And we are way ahead of where we would have been if we had not started on this journey...
