Firelair's Journal, 19 October 2011

I didn't go to bed yet since I woke up yesterday around 9:15am...finally I can rest easy, my Bio Lab Report is finished and handed in. Guess I gotta get used to college professors setting a date then changing it THE DAY it's due...So it's now due on Friday, but I spent 10.25 hrs LAST NIGHT (from 9pm to 7:30am) finishing up. I have never had such an intimate knowledge of Excel until this week, so something good came out of it. Oh! Also got back below 177lbs again, so maybe that will keep this time around.

To bed, to bed!!...but first, dinner...which is actually lunchtime...but I never ate dinner, breakfast, and now lunch...bah...just enough to sate my appetite...I don't even care at this point about how I shouldn't go to bed within 3 hrs of eating... ;p

Just learned that 14 lbs = 1 stone (British weight calculation). Interesting!

Also, while reading a post from an Atkin's dieter, saw that they strive for 15 net carbs from vegetables...something to keep in mind if I go that route. Wonder how many carbs they allow themselves in a day?

Currently feeling: MUCH better, now that I got some rest. Still gonna take some time for my stress levels to regulate, it was obvious in bed tonight that my mind is on other things.
Made it my mission to go to each FS buddy I have and say something helpful or inspirational to EACH, which isn't usually something I get to do since I don't often have time. Glad I made time, especially since so many are so helpful to me. =)
Overall throughout the day: Before I went to bed, I drove to school far too over-tired and fell asleep on the road 3 times going there, then 3 more times coming back. 29 hours awake isn't good, for anyone.
176.8 lb Lost so far: 31.2 lb.    Still to go: 41.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Thanks very much! As do I. I ended up calling out of work so I could go to bed, it was well worth it to get that rest, and I can force myself to sleep tonight as well, so I'm looking forward to catching up on some Zzz's =)

It's always interesting to learn about the "other" diets out there - I think we can all learn from each other. Clealy, Atkins works, but I would have a hard time living it for a long period. But that doesn't mean that all they do it bad, right? :) I am sure that a glance at carbs can help some of us.

Hey Firelair - sure hope you've gone to bed already!! 29 hrs w/out sleep, ...will definitely mess w/ your system! Good carbs, are good for you!!! And anyone can eat lower carbs by just eliminating junk, fried foods, and processed stuff - but if you decide to venture past the obvious... you can easily accommodate a lower carb lifestyle and it's benefits w/out having to go without very much. And even then, it's all in your choices, and your personal food preferences. You know yourself better than anyone... so you would know if you could live w/ making long term changes or not. I didn't have any problem w/ making the changes permanent. Others, struggle all the time. It's because of how different we are - and you have to find what's right for you. Much Love. and happy sleeping!

Thanks tons! I definitely feel I have to do something. Today's (19 Oct) isn't the best date to judge my diet, because I was just tired, hungry, and motivated to lay in bed at all costs...but most days the little pie chart says I'm eating about HALF fat. I know there are good fats too, but it doesn't distinguish, and it sucks to see it like that. I try not to let it get to my head, and have started cutting out my high protein (and high fat) breakfast of sausage, eggs, etc. I still have to find what's right for me, as you said, but working out more often and slowly altering my diet toward a better path is working out so far. Thanks for the pep-talk, I appreciate the assistance! :D
