diehard3's Journal, 05 February 2016

Well it wasn't the amount I was hoping for, but I lost 1/2 pound. If I am looking at a pound of butter, it would be 2 sticks. I think of that and it is a positive response. I guess I am satisfied with my efforts, it all adds up and is going down and not up. I am going to keep working at it and try to not go nuts on Sunday and scarf down everything but the table cloth. I have a plan in mind and I am going to stick with it.
169.5 lb Lost so far: 31.5 lb.    Still to go: 4.5 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Good job ... your analogy is perfect and puts things in perspective better than the number. Keep up the good work!!

Great job, I like your relating the loss to half a stick of butter. Good luck with your Sunday plan.

Thanks everyone for the positive reinforcement. We need to put this football thing behind us and make our program work. We don't have to snack while we watch some rich athletes trying to get richer.

fabulous way to look at it - I am going to keep that in mind next time I see a loss. Good attitude for Sunday's game - fingers crossed for ALL of us on Sunday.

We are having a "taco bar" Sunday. I will have my low carb tortillas and everything else is fine!

We have company coming. I am making loaded nacho's and just putting everything on the bar so everyone can make their own. I will be using pork rinds for mine. I will make a cheesecake for dessert. Only the tortilla chips will be non lchf. They will have to eat my way in my house.

Make sure you have snacks you can have without feeling guilty ... check out Hungry Girl recipes ... she has some appetizers and dips that are dieter friendly!

the beautiful thing about low carbing, is no matter what the party there is something you can have that is legal. You just have to plan for yourself.

Excellent comparison. I recently started visualizing 5 lb bags of sugar to each 5 lbs. that I need to loose. Another tool to keep me away from sugary foods. I love how you are motivated to stick to your guns and keep moving in the right direction. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
