DairyKing's Journal, 16 January 2016

Good Morning, FS Warriors! It's finally cold here in central Illinois. With January historically being the coldest month of the year, it is amazing that we are halfway into January before having any real cold weather. I'm not a big fan, so most of my project activity is confined to the indoors for now.

This morning, I weighed in at 249.0, back to where my feeding extravaganza began for the holidays. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a good trend. I'm not sitting behind a desk most of the time anymore. I was pretty hard down with cold for about a week; the last couple of days, I have felt pretty good.

I had mentioned previously, I think, that my new scissor lift was running great on gas, but wouldn't keep running on propane. I called the dealer that I bought it from, and they had their Service Manager contact me, and I explained the symptoms to him, and told him that I had quite a bit of mechanical experience. He told me that, rather than send a technician on a 4 hour trip to troubleshoot, if I was willing, he would just send me the likely parts to fix it. I was agreeable to that, and the parts have already arrived. They sent just about every component that is unique to the propane system, so I am pretty convinced it is going to fix the problem. I'm just too big a weenie to want to go out in the cold and fix it right now. I feel blessed that I bought it from a pretty good company though.

I received the special 2 foot long drill bit I ordered (to drill weep holes where the brick walls meet the foundation footer) in the pool room. I'm about ready to install membrane that will funnel any wall seepage into the gravel under the concrete, that runs to the sump pump. Then I will mix and pour the concrete to cover all of it. Did you get all of that? Haha, it has nothing to do with dieting, except that it keeps me busy, and away from the binging. I can't wait to start installing the Endless Pool. It's been sitting in crates for maybe 4 years. I don't have any excuse anymore. Besides that, the older I get, the better the swimming will be on my body, versus the running.

I'm loving retirement, in spite of the cold. I can't wait for the warm weather to get here; then I'll really enjoy it. I hate that I kicked it off with a pretty bad cold, but now that that is behind me, I'm ready to get moving. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Toodles!

I've heard about those endless pools...so jealous! I can't wait to hear what you think of it once you're using it.

Nice job losing any holiday weight gain. That's the first step to a successful year of weight loss!
