kingkeld's Journal, 27 September 2011

IMPORTANT: If you are following my version of Spike Day, and you have the LEAST doubt about the numbers, please write to me and I'll help you out. It's great to be able to do a "day off", but let's make sure you're doing them right. :)

..and now to my journal...

Today, I lost 1.1 kgs. That's really good news - I need this weight loss journey to get going. It's been a couple of weeks with little to no results, and at a bad time too. I am so close to my one year anniversary, and I really want to be below 90 kgs for it. I even edited my goal weight from 95 to 90 kgs to motivate! I am today 94.9, but I have been as low as 91.4 very short time ago. Because I know I haven't cheated on anything, I know that my fat weight is even lower now, but other things are blocking for the actual weight loss. There are most likely several factors:

- I have quit my medicines, as I no longer need them. That would trigger something.

- Relatively poor choices of food. Too much rice and bread. I will do better on that. Let me point out that I have NOT gone over my allowed calories.

- Not enough exercise. I will try to do better on that, and move more every day.

- Not enough water. I think I kinda slipped off on that one. I have reinstalled a water calculator for my phone, so I can keep track through out the day.

- Been sick. Well, that's been fixed already!

All in all, these are things that are simple to more away from and get over. Whether I can make it to my goal or not is another story. I will try hard and we'll see what happens.

One thing I DO want to do that is a little more "drastic" is that this coming Saturday I will skip my spike day. After Spike Day, I usually gain several kilos and it takes me almost all week to lose them again. So this time, with my "time running out" the following Tuesday, there is no room for Spike Day. Hopefully, my body will not mind. If it does, then I will take it as a learning experience, and let you guys know. :)
Yesterday, I had quite a shock, as mentioned in my last journal. As many of you know, my grand weight loss prize was supposed to be in the mail yesterday, something I have been looking forward to for SO long, and that I was just so excited about. Well, it turns out that some a-hole at the postal service has stolen it. Good news is that there IS a replacement bass on the way from the distributor, and that it MIGHT even make it here within a week or so. Even better news is that they have narrowed the place down, where the guitar was stone. Long live package tracking. When they check in the packages, they weight them, and they can tell at what point the package "lost weight". I still got the empty box out here for delivery, but of course I could tell something was wrong, and return it unopened. You don't just miss 15 lbs on a package. :) Anyways, it turns out that there is max three people in the sector, where the guitar went missing, so it should be fairly easy to work out who is going to jail. I think it's like this everywhere - the law is VERY hard on stealing mail, definitely jail time. That comforts me. NOBODY should ever steal musical instruments (or anything else for that matter). Instruments are something people are very passionate about, and instruments of dreams. Nobody should ever ruin that for anyone.

Today will be a musical day in other ways. The after-class school for teen here in my city is starting up this week, and tonight I will go and teach my class for the first time this year. I teach rock music, which is basically me showing the 7-11th graders how to form a rock band, learn to play a few songs (and learn to play them LOUD!), and generally be cool in a rock'n'roll way. :) It's SO much fun, and I can't wait to go! This year, assuming that most kids will be new to the class, we'll tackle Deep Purple's Smoke On The Water, and maybe Twisted Sister's We're Not Gonna Take It. At least, those are my first choices. Let's see how it goes.

As in the past year, it's always a little tricky to get the food schedule to fit in as I start teaching at 5 pm, which is my normal dinner time. Today, I have arranged to meet with Wife before I go teach and we'll have early dinner. I'll probably drink tons of coffee at the school, and that'll keep me full the rest of the day. Usually I have a slight craving when I come home around 9:30 pm, but nothing I have ever had to cave in to. Neither will I this year.

So today, with the new weight loss, the game is ON! Go go go!

Life is good.
