I'm seeing a pattern the weekend of fun parties with drinking and eating are hindering permanent weight loss. I need to think about which is more important to me. For now, I'll try to balance out my fun.

Idea: Instead of taking that next margarita, beer or wine, I'll drink a glass of water.

I just want my cake and eat it too. LOL
137.5 lb Lost so far: 0.5 lb.    Still to go: 7.5 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

I have similar experience. We don't get together with friends every weekend though. Maybe once every 4 or 5 weeks. With that kind of schedule I find I can build it into my plan and mitigate the damage as long as I don't go totally off the rails. If we partied every weekend with friends....I'd be screwed ;)

Fun is a good thing. maybe get moving a bit more will offset the added calories. Like to dance?

Dancing was never my thing ;) I go to the gym and do the weights and the cardio. On the off (gym) days I take the dog on long brisk walks. Definitely no substitute for moving!
