So I'm back to atkins today. It seems like I'm always "back to" some diet or other and yet I keep getting bigger and bigger.

I'm totally disgusted with myself. I went to the Smoky Mountains for just under a week and my knee is killing me and nearly the whole time all I could think about was how tired I was or how much my knee hurt. It seems like my entire vacation was a giant reminder of how fat I am --- we had to request tables instead of booths at restaurants so I could fit, I had to shop in the extra big girls shop in the outlets because the regular big girls shop didn't carry my new size, we didn't do as much sightseeing because I was too tired --- it was a great vacation but it was also a horrible vacation.

I anticipate lots of issues getting a solid two weeks of atkins under my belt. Last time my belly was upset for weeks and it really drained me. I'm not sure why - atkins flu is generally a one or two week affair. Its probably because I'm almost 44. This aging thing is really getting on my nerves! My plan this go around is to get some keto sticks and make sure I'm on the right track. I also want to keep it simple for the first few weeks - meat and veggies with few elaborate recipes. I'm not a great cook and I get bored easily.

Have you considered Slow Carb? I haven't started it yet, but from everything I have read it sounds amazing. I am starting it next Monday. I need to mentally prepare. I am only mentioning it because it is similar to what I know of Atkins, but seems easier to adhere to. Check out The 4 Hour Body if you are interested, it's an interesting read and it outlines the entire plan. Best of luck to you! We can do this!

I had not heard of Slow Carb but I did google it. So far I'm seeing a book. I recently read about Zero Carb and that sounded interesting but since I'll probably keep to 20 grams of carbs for more than induction I'm going to stick with my tried and true Atkins.
