Annabelle3117's Journal, 28 August 2015

My initial response when I weighed in this morning was disappointment. I was at 189 two weeks ago and after two weeks of 1000 cal/day deficits 188 is what I have to show for it. I decided to take my dog on a walk first thing so I could collect my thoughts before I became that annoying whiny person who complains about a loss. Every loss is a good loss, I just needed to remind myself.

188 is not a bad weight, at least not in my opinion. It's not where I want to be but having started at 286 it's nothing to sneeze at either. I don't give enough credit to myself for what I have accomplished entirely on my own. No trainers, no dieticians, no fad diets, no operations. Just a girl and her online journal. It is pretty remarkable.

Look at this progress, this downward trend. This week I've dropped two pounds and that's with a trip to a Mexican restaurant and the fair. Come on now. I'm eighteen pounds away from my first goal, 170, and only fourteen pounds away from hitting a new low.

So today I've decided I'm celebrating successes. I am so very proud of myself for having the courage to start this journey in the first place. It wasn't easy being the almost 300lb girl at the gym. Starting nursing school stressed me into gaining back 30+lbs after a 111lb loss and I had the courage to start again. Now here I am, still successful. Working back to where I was and this time I'm making it to goal.

Happy Friday everyone, and I hope you all have a wonderful day/weekend.

Good for you! I'm struggling with staying positive about my weight loss. I've yo-yo'd over the years and for the first time I saw a loss instead of a gain in the past few weeks. It's very exciting, even though it's small! Here's to staying positive!

I'm so glad you found the positive in your loss. You've worked too hard to get down on yourself for a loss. Your accomplishments are something to be proud of and be happy with. We all go through those ups and downs, that's life, but being able to get back up, dust yourself off, and come back swinging makes you an inspiration. I hope you have a great weekend!!

Now that is what I call a great journal entry! It shows real self-knowledge and self-confidence, and the ability to deal with those niggling voices in our heads that often make us fail. Respect! By the way, I checked and you were at 189.6 a couple of weeks ago, so you've done even better than you thought! Well done you, and have a great weekend!

Well done - I think you are fantastic! As you get closer to your goal the steps tend to get smaller but every step is worth celebrating however small.
