I don't know anyone who 'loves' being overweight . . . but you maybe the first person I've met that hates summer! Instead of 'dieting,' why not think of adopting a daily, healthy lifestyle as your 'job' that pays health and well-being benefits!

Just relax live life, don't diet change how you eat and get a little exercise. You have to learn to eat in the real world

maybe you do need a job, or at least a hobby, or something to get you out of the house to socialize. Can't hurt. We all hate being overweight and dieting. But, I try to see as something that will keep me healthy. I've studied a lot about food being overweight. And gained a lot of knowledge. And usually thin people usually watch what they eat, so they also kind of diet. It's food management, health management. There, is that a better spin? lol

I can identify how you feel.I get very frustrated.I take Paxil for depression so I have to to be real careful with carbs. But when eliminate then I can loose weight. If I start with them again I end up bingeing. One day at time works for me.I am starting once again.

You are over half way to your goal weight. It's tough to lose weight, but getting to the point where you feel good is so worth it. Keep going!

thanks so much for the input everyone! can you add me as your "friend"? I actually just cancelled my gym membership; I'm looking for a different one; I have a 2 year old who will be in school in september, so that will free up some of my time.... what kind of jobs do you guys have? doing some soul searching, researching? ideas?

My opinion, you need to find a way of eating that is not a diet, something that you can live with where you will be healthy. Enjoy your kids, they grow up so dang fast.

I absolutely agree with WF, 200%, on the diet thing and the kids!

I work full time and have 2 kids, and making time for myself to exercise wasn't a priority for a long time. I had a gym membership but would find any excuse not to use it. Now I do DVD's at home, walk, or run and it's made a world of difference. I can still make excuses, but with my kids being older now it's harder because they are more self sufficient. Once I get into a routine it's much easier for me to follow through with the workouts, but it takes a while, the routine doesn't happen over night. I also find that having a step counter has helped because I have a goal to meet every day, so even if I work out I'll go for a short walk if I need to meet my steps for the day. I'd just say find something you can enjoy and do it. Also, if you feel like you want/need a job do some research and find something that works for you. Maybe just a part time job would make you feel good. I was off work for a short time when my kids were little, but felt like I needed to contribute more and needed the adult interaction, so for me work was a must. Good luck!!

Tulipgirl, I used to exercise with my kids. They thought it was a blast when they were young and the resources were limited then compared to now my youngest is 35. Now my 2 granddaughters almost 15 and 16 are trying to convince their Mom's to workout with them, it's so far not happening. With all the DVD's out there and youtube videos it might be easy to get your kids involved. I have a beachbody dance workout video that my grandsons like doing with me, they get further than I do. LOL. I need to do it more often so I can get through the entire dvd. I would have absolutely loved being able to stay home with my kids, I couldn't. I was lucky that I took about a year off after each of them were born. I never ever ran out of things to do. Involve your kids, they learn along with you in whatever you would like to do. I sewed with kids on my lap, I put in gardens with them learning that foods are grown with sweat and work, we made all kinds of things, they learned to cook, make it fun for them. They learned what ever it is you want to do you can if you do the research on how to, it's easier now with the internet.
