It's been months since I've been on here. I've been dealing with a lot of life issues. My father had a major heart attack on November 15th. He was in ICU for six weeks. In the following six weeks he coded 4 more times due to other hospital issues. He was initially in a coma, he came out of that. The his kidneys went offline for 12 days, full dialysis. They came back online. Due to breathing issues he had a tracheotomy. On December 31st he was moved to a long term rehabilitation hospital. He progressed slowly, but didn't have any major issues. The major problem has been breathing. He was on full ventilator support for at least 6 weeks, From there they started to wean him off to very little success. He can't eat because of swallowing issues. He can't walk due to weakness from being in a bed for over half a year. Up until 6 weeks ago he couldn't talk because of the tracheotomy and breathing problems. In the last two months he's only needed CPAP vent support at night. He has a Passy-Muir valve that allows him to talk. And on the 15th of June he was discharged for the hospital and is currently in a care home. He will be coming home in 3-6 months. He recovery is nothing short than a miracle.

I am his primary care giver, and his only child. No wife. So, needless to say I have taken on a very complex role. My own health suffered in the first few months. Now I'm back to the point where I can focus on my health. I joined a gym and now it's time to hold myself accountable to my diet again. Wish me luck!
