KThompson12's Journal, 15 June 2015

I started a diet yesterday, I made a 'casserole' of healthy food and separated into 300-calorie portions. I ate so well all day, then around 7:00 my neighbor invited me over for a margarita. At first I said 'no thanks, I'm on a diet" and she didn't pressure me. But then I shouted back "aw what's one drink gonna hurt" and I went over. I drank 2 margaritas, ate a half tray of veggies with dip, big pieces of white bread loaf, then came home and devoured Doritos & peanuts. So today I'm analyzing exactly where I went soft. The drink? Why did I give in so fast? Alcohol? Was I too hungry? Was I bored? I guess all of the above. I will be very aware of my weaknesses and triggers.
Secondly, I've had an unhealthy obsession with carbs for the past 15 years and I am letting go. I realized low carb diets are so 'all or nothing' which explains why I start a diet each morning but quit by lunch then figure I screwed up the day anyway so indulge and restart tomorrow. Now, I realize I won't drop 10 pounds in 2 weeks like low carb, my loss will be slow but steady, and more important, it will be long lasting & I'll develop better eating habits.
189.6 lb Lost so far: 33.8 lb.    Still to go: 4.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 0.4 lb a week
