Mandie160's Journal, 22 August 2007

Well Guys, I have great news and I have bad news.... Bad news is, the scale didn't move this weigh in, I actually gained. The great news is, as of August 21, 2007, I am now a size 12!!!! I went to JC Penny after I left the dentist on yesterday. I went just to look at the new fall fashion and of course try on new jeans. I grabbed a size 12 long and a size 14 long. I do this all the time, I wanted to check to see if I was small enough to get in a size 12 and if not able to wear the 12, I needed to check to see if I could still fit in a size 14. I wore a size 14 to the store but you guys know how we have our jeans for a while and we tend to stretch them into the size that we are currently. Well yesterday I wanted to try me on a new and unstretched pair of Levi 515 jeans. I was so excited and truly couldn't believe that I could actually put the size 12 on and button them up with out doing the blue jean dance to get them pass my thighs. Today I feel like a million bucks. I am going to stay on induction stage for maybe two more weeks and then I am thinking about going on to the next stage of this diet.
I do have a confession to make to you guys, I had three Southwestern Eggrolls lastnight. I hope it didn't hurt the diet, this is why I am going to stay on the induction for at least two more weeks. So you guys, today I say damn the scale because I am losing weight and getting in shape! Don't get me wrong,it is important that I get my weight at or around 160, but it is more important to me to be able to put on a pair of jeans and not feel that I have to hide my stomach and thighs! Good Luck to everyone and thanks for all the support.
193.4 lb Lost so far: 11.6 lb.    Still to go: 23.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 0.7 lb a week

Yea!!! That is the BEST feeling--There are so many other things to 'measure' than the number on the scale and the way clothes fit is probably one of the most important (to me anyway). I have changed tactics this time around and actually weigh myself every day. I am getting into the habit of just 'observing' the number--not emotionally reacting to it. As I see it move up and down over the course of a week--then see the big picture over time, it does not seem to bother me when the scale number goes up.

I also weigh myself every day and try not to let it bother me because it does swing up and down a lb on a daily basis. You know what I like though.... is the little graph on this site that shows our weight history. When I look at that, at least I know over the long run I'm moving generally in the right direction!

Hey Guys, It was the greatest feeling. I went from store to store trying on size 12L. I tried different brand names also. I just want to make sure that Levi hadn't started making their jeans bigger. I didn't purchase any of them because I am really trying for a smaller size. My scale has been acting up lately, I would get on it in the morning and weigh 3LBS or 4LBS more or less before I go to bed. Is this normal? Guys I am going to stay on induction for two more weeks. I am going to exercise and stick to the diet as close as My mind will let me. My diet partner and I have started back exercising as of lastnight. **Ama I suppose to put this message here or am I suppose to respond in the journal section. Do you guys come back to the comment section to see this message or would it be better to respond to your messages through the journal or private inbox. I am still learning this site and the rules. Good for you girl. I am glad you have an exercise partner. That way you both are accountable in keeping each other in check. I know the feeling of a putting on a pair of pants that is smaller. I am sure you were very very very happy and felt like doing a flip if you could. Keep up the good work. If the scale does not reflect your weightloss, your clothes sure will. Also keep exercising while you diet so you don't get that saggy look when you lose weight too fast. Just something I notice alot with people who lose quick. Any all the best!
